So many Fails, but still a video on Red Top Mountain State Park, Georgia. Water and land fun!

We stopped at this great State park on the way home from Mardi Gras. It was wonderfully clean and comfortable. But the winter wind and cold drove us away!! Check out the Links Below!

    Red Top Mountain is one of our favorite "go to" parks to go camping and hiking for a couple of days when we just want to get away from the house. We live in Cumming, GA and Red Top is only about 45 minutes away. We really enjoy all the trails they have and some of the ranger led hikes are very entertaining. As you said, some of the sites are tricky to back into but, being an ex-trucker, I'm pretty good at backing my 29 foot trailer into any site. I think Akela would have liked running 4 miles but something tells me he would have had to drag you back to the camper. 😁 Anyway, as usual, thanks for the video and always look forward to your next one.

    He is pretty good with other dogs unless they challenge him, then he gets a bit controlling. He is great at the dog park. It is tough to get him to stay with me on a trail run though!! Good to "see" you Gary!

    Yes, I noted that too. Then I wondered if people in RVs use their own facilities- or prefer to use the parks - especially if clean. Hmmm.

    It is a great park. I was so mad I could not do a better video. I think my Brain was frozen from going from 70deg La. to 30deg and 30mph winds in Ga.

    Beautiful area, just getting into the North Georgia Mountains. I had the opportunity to visit Lake Lanier a few years back, but not Allatoona Lake. Zipped by on I75 a few times! Thanks for sharing............

    Nice video. Thats a pretty park. You did a good service to it even with missing footage. I finally made it to FDR early last fall. Nice park, and great staff. Cades Cove, so much history there. Donnie Laws, a YTer lives in that area. Thanks for taking us along. 🙂👍

    One thing nice about using your own facilities is you don't have to smell OPS. (other peoples s hit) You can smell your own. Butt, I guess the camping experience is using their facilities.

    Georgia State Parks have undergone, many of them, updates and renewals of bathrooms and camping pads over many parks. They are really nice now. Stayed at Cloudland Canyon with major upgrades, yes, pristine. 😊

    I haven't camped in Georgia yet, I have a 2025 trip to Florida and I'm thinking of staying in Georgia but I am concerned about traffic running through Atlanta. I'll put this on the list.

  • @GoingNoWhereFast

    @GoingNoWhereFast

    Atlanta is not bad traffic wise. But the number of roads that go through and into Atlanta can get you pretty confused. Just go slow and take your time. The Atlanta is pretty far west for hitting Florida, unless you’re going to the panhandle.
