Agreed. I like the type of monster movies that go "Look, we ain't trying to win any Oscars. We know what you want to see. You want giant monster and/or giant robot brawls, that's what you're gonna get." Now I'm not saying that there isn't a place in this world for movies like Minus One, but it's also unfair to expect all Godzilla movies to be like Minus One. Some just want to watch fun giant monster movies, and movies like the Monsterverse films are delivering on that front.

Too many fish eye lens shots,awkward sex scenes and other odd cinematography IMO. We both had more fun watching the goofy Roadhouse remake.😂Poor Things is up for awards and Roadhouse will get trashed by Rotten Tomatoes.

This has to be the best and true review of this movie. This movie was not Oscar worthy, but DAMN was it fun!!!!!!!L it had me at the edge of my seat. My son and I left that theater with huge smiles on our faces. The entire theater was cheering. Great review sir!!!!!

Honestly the Legendary Monsterverse could probably be summed up with "Its like a professional wrestling match with kaiju". Like there is a plot, it's there to set things up and create stakes, but the story is driven by seeing 2+ badasses (or a badass and a jobber) just absolutely going to town on each others and getting an emotional reaction from a narrative fight. Its good sh*t, but you need to have some level of buy-in from the audience that we are here to be entertained.

What I love is that the Godzilla fandom is fully acknowledging and accepting that both sides of Godzilla movies are acceptable if not their kind of thing. They aren't being toxic asshole acting like you're not a "true fan" for liking the thing they don't like or vice versa like SOME fandoms are acting right now (looking at you Star Wars).

Very much appreciate you acknowledging that Minus One and GxK aren't really comparable! And if anything your ability to still have fun without trying to overanalyze a monster slugfest makes you more qualified as a critic than ones whose inner child died decades ago.

Scar King was giving serious Kid Buu and/or Bushmaster vibes with his fight style and stances. Especially when he first showed up in the movie🤣😂. I did like how he wasn’t as physically strong and smaller than Kong, yet more agile and acrobatic with his fight style. But, I knew once Kong and Godzilla teamed up, they’d beat the goofy out of him😭🤣

The post KOTM era of Legendary films really needs to be called "Neo-Showa" because thats the vibes they give, from the weak human dialogue, to the awsome fight scenes. This isnt a criticism or praise, its just an observation.

The word "ridiculous" popped in my head while I watched this movie as well. I respect the decision to be all the way ridiculous.

I feel you, Andre. I've loved this dumb shit since I was a kid and I loved all of the new Godzilla and Kong movies. In the old movies the humans were there for exposition too and I'm glad this new movie does that. All everyone wants to see is them fight anyway.

We got what we wanted more monsters and guess what I loved it!! And i notices bunch of kids being in the theaters becoming the next generation of Godzilla fans and that’s beautiful, including my 4yr son who I quote said “this was the best movie ever”

They remind me of the Heisei era of Godzilla films which is my fave era of Godzilla which were a little serious but mostly fun so I'm having a blast with these.

It's godzilla, I dont care if the story is bad or good, I'll watch anything if godzilla, Dinosaurs, king kong (kong) monsters, prehistoric shit in it. ❤

Definitely a much more relaxed, campy, goofy movie. Especially at the end, Godzilla fighting in zero G was an absolute gem. Also, someone got suplexed! *I’m NOT joking at all, 10/10*

Godzilla Minus One is peak godzilla..but Godzilla x Kong New Empire is peak Popcorn showa era entertainment!!! We have room for both and I am happy for it!!!

I’m glad Godzilla is doing great as a franchise and in the Monsterverse. Spoiler: Seeing Godzilla, Mothra, and Kong in the same scene together was amazing.

Loved seeing Mothra's Wonder Woman Moment.

I saw it on X - screen and it was the greatest movie experience I've ever had. It's the closest thing to just 2 hours of only monsters fighting without any human elements. 👍👌✌️🤘😎

Every time Trapper came through with one of his retro songs my 8 year old was dancing in her seat. As an 80’s kid it brought a little tear to my eye.

Accurate I seen it yesterday the humans felt unnecessary, kong definitely felt like kratos

If it entertains and it keeps people employed then keep making them. Not everything has to be oscar level

This movie was like a love letter to the monsterverse fans.

That intro was nostalgic in the feels, good stuff!

I like you Andre cuz you see it for yourself. So many people compare it to minus one and are mad with how short the fights were with godzilla but kong actually got a fair amount of fighting time. I love that we got many fights without cutting away. Yes the fights should've been longer but it didn't surprise me cuz godzilla literally is OP and it makes sense to why they are like that. Overall the final fight was badass and I'm glad kong and godzilla got to share the spotlight to fight each other and that's all I cared about. Yes the human dialogue was ridiculous and Yes i wish they should've made it shorter but u actually enjoyed the scenes with Gia and her adoptive mom. Skar king was the Palpatine version of the monsterverse but people expected him to be scary like horror movies. I wasn't bothered with godzilla having not much screen time cuz we've seen him plenty in other films but definitely these fights were PURE ENTERTAINING and I think I enjoyed jt more than godzilla vs kong

Honestly, I would love this movie even more if Godzilla had a character arc like Kong's. In the monsterverse, They make him out like some omnipresent deity that just senses an enemy is coming. But I like the older movies where he figures things out in real time with the audience, kinda like Kong does in this.

I 100% was going to watch this movie. But after this review I am literally on my way to the movie theater. And I just got off of work was planning on going home and relaxing

I think the human dialogue was incidentally genius... Boss fights give you that high, and the human dialogue brings you down from it and this movie was a rollercoaster of that. I think if you ride that high an entire movie, by the end you're burnt out especially with a sensory overload movie like this. Even during some of the dialogue there would be excitement.. Like that "one" scene that literally jump scared my entire row 😂 but yeah.. it was pretty shotty dialogue, but needed imo.

Do not forget Mathra in this movie . SHE IS THE QUEEN OF MONSTERS . She is fantastic in this movie . I love her .

Can't decide which bit I laughed hardest at. The Suko scene, or the hilarious choreography for the fight scene in Egypt. God this film is so dumb but I loved it 😂. Wish we could have had a 1973 style dropkick in the film somewhere for completion.
