Derailing is an intended feature. In early versions, that actually happened, but then they increased the derail speed and decreased the minecart speed cap, so it doesn't happen under normal circumstances anymore

That's actually pretty balanced they could literally just change this line of code and everyone would be happy, seeing the amount of gold needed to accelerate this fast and keep this speed up (except the very complex redstoners)

I would have liked to see what would happen if you dropped a minecart onto a powered rail in between two circular tracks since it didn't like it that much. Would it bounce back and forth or basically BLJ into oblivion.

Hey Element, i think the problem is that the minecarts are being stopped from having aerial inertia due to air resistance sor something. Try coding that out, so that you dont slow down while youre flying in the minecart in the air!
