boats still floating in super gravity makes sense, because the water would be heavier too so buoyancy is unchanged however it would also probably burst into flames at the temperatures you would need to keep the water in a liquid state at that pressure

@@arossfelder The whole “water freezes at 0C and boils at 100C” thing is a bit of an oversimplification. That only really applies at sea level because the pressure there is 1 atm. Because the gravity is greater, the air pressure is also greater. If the pressure is high enough, the water will solidify even at room temperature. Therefore, in order to maintain a liquid state, the water would need to be heated to a point where the wood on the boat would undergo a redox reaction with the oxygen in the air and begin to burn. TL;DR: With the pressure caused by gravity, in order for the water to be a liquid, it would have to be hot enough to burn the boat.

8:48 actually the boat floating is accurate, buoyancy doesnt change because of the increased force of gravity, this is because gravity also acts proportionally more on the water as well, increasing water pressure, forcing the boat to float more, counteracting gravity. therefore if there was an ocean on jupiter, or an object the gravity of the sun any old boat would work (igniring any crushing that may occur) edit: a more simplistic reason would be that density doesnt change, therefore bouyancy doesnt either.

Make actual mods or even better a planet mod for newer versions. Like starminer. The demand for planet/gravity mods is huge. 4:32 that is perfect for a mod. This gives me 2 executions for the same idea. Idea one: You make a planet dimension which is just flat like all dimensions and it has these sideways falling blocks as orbiting stuff because it’s cool. Maybe you can make them go 45° and have hem be meteors. Idea Two: You make them actually orbit around a sphere shaped planet not in its own dimension.

Fun fact: since IRL buoyancy works via relative weight, you will be exactly as buoyant in the water in all gravity environments as you are on Earth. However with decreased gravity it would be easier for you to push out water, and with increased the pressure would crush you.

It's because gravity also affects a liquid and it resists you to move up through itself differently depending on gravity. Yes, buoyancy is proportional to g, but higher g also increases a liquid resistance so those just cancel out each other. It's the same as to say that gravity force is proportional to mass, but as you can see, light and heavy objects fall down with the same speed
