And here Rudy! This video was a Patreon Exclusive around 5 months ago but now that I am out of content for a bit as I organize myself after my vacation, my Patrons generously agreed to let you guys give this reaction a watch! I LOVE this movie and actually re-watched it recently. The musical score and the cast are fantastic but the heart that this film has is what made me fall in love with it. Man the ending gets you in the feels every time. Thanks for watching, and thank you Patron's for voting to make this movie public on KZread! Have a great day :)

The absolute FUNNIEST thing I witnessed in this video was you saying "It's nice to see Sean Aston at his actual height, and not his Hobbit height!" Sean is actually tiny in real life! That was HYSTERICAL.
Wow I've actually waited a long time for another Rudy reaction from someone, there are not that many. Samwise did great in this one.
Charles S. Dutton is a great actor. Also, before becoming an actor, he straight up murdered a guy with his bare hands, went to prison, rehabbed, went to Yale of all schools, and got his own sitcom. He's the real life Rudy with manslaughter.
This is easily one of my favorite films. As a kid, I had the dream of playing college football for my favorite team, but I never was able to fulfill it in that extent. This movie kinda allowed me to realize that dream for the time being, and I actually now work for the team I always dreamed of playing for. When Pete dies, that hit a big spot cause my best friend also died and he was one of the only ones who supported that dream. Every time Rudy is carried off the field I can't help but cry. Truly an inspiring movie, so glad you checked it out and enjoyed!
I’m not crying! Your crying! I Adore this movie . In my top 10 .I knew you would love it as much as you did . Go Rudy!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fun fact, the player that Dan Ruettiger replaced for that game was Joe Montana because he suffered an injury the prior week.
The real "Rudy Ruettiger" actually cameos in the film. During the final game, he's the man in a jacket standing behind Rudy's dad.

Rudy is a well-paid (I checked his fee) inspirational speaker today... here is actual footage of his play... kzread.info/dash/bejne/X65tl5KoprOdfpc.html
Great reaction! Sean Astin did an incredible performance, showing what an intensely motivated and hard-working person can do. Rudy is definitely a go-to film when one needs inspiration.

Thank you! and yeah I am so glad I bought it so I can keep going back to it when I need some inspiration
Yes, next to John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith was the best old school film composer of the 80s & 90s.

Two other magnificent Goldsmith scores were for The Blue Max and The Wind and the Lion....he was brilliant.
Vince Vaugh is also in an 1987 movie called Adventures in Babysitting. You might not realize it's him until his scenes are already over. 😄
Ned Beatty is Otis from Superman I and II. Rudy's dad.
If I got a dollar for every time I have watched this movie since it came out in 1993, I'd probably have enough money to buy Twitter. This is one of my all time favorite. And I love watching you discover it. Great reaction, my friend.
Great reaction per usual. Invincible with Mark Walberg has a similar feel worth a view
Rudy is absolutely at the top of inspirational movies. The soundtrack always kicks in at the perfect moments too. I suggest another movie for you that has great timing and acting. It has tons of heart and lots of action. Frequency . Its from 2000, with Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. I saw in the comments The Mummy from 1999. I agree, the music in The Mummy was amazing and always hit at the perfect moments. The movie is pretty good too. But unless you are a die hard Trek fan, you will get bored with Star Trek The Motion Picture. But I would love to see you react to the entire Trek movie series!!! Maybe the next series after Bond???
The story of how the real Rudy got this movie made is as inspiring as the movie itself.
"Hoosiers" is the only sports movie that compares to the feel good ending of "Rudy".
My favorite sports movie, ever. The score alone makes me wanna go outside and do footwork drills for no reason haha.
Me and my dad rented this movie and we loved it but then when the movie was over we found out that it was actually a true story it made the movie 100 times better! It's a classic!
The song is Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs about 15 years apart. Also, that last coach was in Major League. Another great sports films.
"Ice baths feel so good"....let me tell you...I mangled my ankle in a practice and got that foot in the ice bath...and it was a lot of things but it wasn't a feel good experience for me. It did the job but..."FEEL GOOD!!"....not on your life....but I don't speak for everyone.
I listen to the soundtrack almost everyday.
Thank you for reacting to this movie it's one of my favorite movies.
Thanks, Oliver (and Huxley)! 🏈 I was very late to the party with this one. My mother loved it back in the day; I finally got around to seeing it just a few years ago. Loved it, of course... very inspirational... and based in truth. ❧ "Having dreams is what makes life tolerable."
The song is 'Ruby, Ruby, Ruby' by the Kaiser Chiefs, it's a lot newer than this film.
My nephew lobbied very hard to get his mother to let him play little league football. He constantly wore his Eagles jersey and helmet but he didn’t get his wish. He’s thirteen now and pitches for a local travel baseball team.
Sports movies don’t get much better than this.
Miracle and Invincible are both excellent, inspirational, sports underdog/true stories that I put on the same level as Rudy.
This movie came out in late 1993, a year and a half after my father died. He was a big Notre Dame fan. I know he would have liked this movie.
Another good Sean Astin movie is called "Whitewater Summer"....Has Kevin Bacon in it.
The No...tre-Dame pun was actually pretty smart :)
Shooter should be a choice in the future. Mark Wahlberg, Kate Mara, Ned Beatty (Rudy’s dad), Danny fucking Glover plays a bad guy, and honestly there are at least 3 more big names in the movie that I can’t remember. It’s about a former Marine sniper who gets framed for a high profile murder and has to face off against basically the galactic empire of American politics
So glad you did this reaction--I adore this movie. Will check out your other videos. 🙂
23:24 A young Vince Vaughn.
Notre Dame football greatness in northern Indiana. A lot of people have no idea where this school is. This state has a split. Indiana university, Purdue university and Notre Dame.
Great inspirational film , Sean Astin has a nice filmography .. loved Toy soldiers as well .

He was great in Toy Soldiers.
You'll run into Ned Beatty ("bate-ey) again, He was in Superman 1-2 as well as some great classics I'm sure you'll get to.. Another movie that this one always reminds me of in a way is an old 80's movie "Lucas". I think you'd like that one a lot.

Being that he’s been in over 160 movies, I’d guess he will come across his path, especially if he watches any classics, like Network, Deliverance, All the President’s Men or Silver Streak, plus the films you mentioned as well.

Wow - Lucas - hadn't thought of that movie in years!! I need to go watch that one again...
Most of the movie was accurate. While the laying down of the jersies didn't actually happen, the team captain and a couple of other starters did talk head coach, Devine into letting Rudy dress. The Georgia Tech game was not the last game of the season, but the last home game of the season and Rudy's last chance to dress for the team, since it would be highly unlikely they would have made arrangements for a practice squad player to travel with the team. Also Rudy's sacking of the QB at the end was not a solo sack, but he and another player did sack the QB. All the best sports films transcend the sport itself.
I do not think it is unfair to say that as an actor, Sean Astin does not have a huge dramatic range. But the one thing he delivers better than anyone in the business is Earnestness. This made him perfect for Rudy (and for Sam Gamgee, years later, and for Mikey in 'Goonies' years earlier). The film does take liberties with the history, as all such films do, and there are tons of anachronisms, because, for example, in 1993 it was impossible to film on a 1967 football field (with H-shaped goalposts on the goal line) - this could be fixed in a film made today with CG editing. It was important, of course, to be filming a the real Notre Dame campus, so some buildings and signs were out of time. But things like 1990s clothing on the students in some scenes could have been avoided.

That quality of earnestness also made him perfect for the role of Bob Newby in Stranger Things.
The fact that there isn’t a single Swingers reaction on youtube, when it was Jon Favereau and Vince Vaughns massive breakthrough, is what’s wrong with the reaction crowd.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
I’m almost 21 and that’s kinda scary. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aha, my sophomore year AP history teacher was in this movie, Peter Rausch, he’s one of the football players on the team who was super proud of his shirtless weightlifting scene. Super obnoxious, but a cool guy who ended up having a small stint in the nfl with the Chicago bears.
Great movie Rudy. Check out Miracle another great true story sports story. Unreal.
at 8:25..his actual size IS hobbit height..
I love this movie😊 Sean Astin is still one of my favorite actors 😊❤ You should watch Sean Astin in "Toy soldiers" 😊

Toy Soldiers is such a hard to find movie, but it is a great one.
you're fortunate enough to enjoy a jerry goldsmith score (rip), possibly the G.O.A.T. if john williams hadn't been born.
5:25 lol it’s his teacher.. who knows he’s failing civics lol
I don't understand American Football either - I'm British, why would I? Makes no difference watching this film though. We've all had dreams, some of us have impossible dreams. Impossible by the standards of the influences we grew up with, of the limitations those that love us put on ambition. It's an amazingly told story, and a true story. By the way I should be taking it personally but agree with you, Frank is a horrible name. I recoil a little whenever I'm called it, since Frank is short for Francis. Frank just sounds aggressive, kicking you with the k at the end.
That’s the best t-shirt ever
Rudy is a classic! Can you react to some black cinema? That would be interesting lol.
hoosiers is a good true story sport movie
If you want a good younger Jon Favreau movie, check out Love and Sex(also starring Famke Janssen) circa 1999. Hilarious
The way he says "Frank Good" is like sarcastic, it is in a demeaning bad way, not that he did a good job. You gotta listen to the tone.
This is really one of the best Football movies ever made. Like hands down. Very rare to see a reaction to this movie (people tend to have alot of issues getting a reaction to this uploaded to youtube).
One fact I know about this film that was untrue was when all of the football players volunteered to quit. It didn't happen in the real story. I really liked this film, but at the same time, some of it was too melodramatic.

They didn't volunteer to quit, in the movie they were volunteering to not suit up for that game so that he could.

NFL Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana was a teammate of Rudy's at Notre Dame. When he was interviewed, he said that if the actual Notre Dame players knew that no one has been carried off the field like that, they never would have done it.
hobbit height = goonies height.
I’d love to see your reaction to the movie “Glory Road “ incredible true story about a basketball team that wanted to make a statement!
Not familiar with American Football? What country are you from? Your English sounds great!
You want to see Jerry Goldsmith at his best? Watch Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Or Patton. Or The Mummy (1999).
RUBY! 🤣 lol
I've watched this movie so many times and something I learned that next to Pete, Frank might have been the closest to Rudy. Definitely closer than Johnny, smh. Frank was his older brother was always pushing him and even at Christmas when he called Johnny out you could here it in his tone. Sometimes it's can be hard to show those closest to us how important they really are and at the end when Rudy gets his sack you can clearly see it on Frank's face. P.s, Rudy's dad told frank "good" because he was basically saying you're a "man that's what you're supposed to do" then had them thrown out. Lol
.....watch American Underdog, a true story of Kurt Warner!
A great movie. It is even better that is based on a real life story. Sean Austin also have another great action (Kind of :) ) movie called Toy Soliders you should see it.
love the shirt, you should check out him live with the foo fighters it's amazing, just type that in on here you'll find it.
You thinking of the song 'Louie' not Rudy. Not 'Louie, Louie' but 'Louie'.
I think you stopped watching too soon and made no mention that you acknowledged that what made it even better, is THAT IT IS A TRUE STORY. I could tell you were not familiar with the largesse of Rudy's dream. One with no familiarity with the story would have thought they were simply watching a good movie. It was so much more than that in the fact that it's a TRUE STORY of a real person!! Did you read the ending overlay wrap-up where it is revealed that what you just watched was a true account of Rudy Ruttinger and no player was ever carried off the field again at Notre Dame to this day, plus the success that Rudy inspired in his siblings??!! I don't think you knew the real shocker that THIS IS A TRUE STORY!!
Your racism shows, when u called that man a "PUCK" then retracted. U disregarded all he did for Rudy?! That's evident. When I saw him in hall, looking at Rudy, it teared me up. U called him a PUCK. Why? I found that strange. Then, I figured it out. Looked at you. Better work on u.
