I mean yeah but shoyo definitely outplayed him with the ledgeguards. Marss made some big mistakes early on and shoyo was able to capitalize aided by chroms amazing ledgetrap ability. Marss prolly could’ve grabbed too on one of shoyos missed jabs

These games are so tactical, I love it. Both James and Marss know that zero suit has a fairly laggy grab, so James will sit in shield for an extended amount of time, seeing if he can bait marrs into going for a grab and punishing it, which Marss knows too, so it makes it really interesting to watch.

Shoyo james is my favorite player because chrom is my main, but what kills me is his mindset when he plays. Chrom could EASILY top at any tournament but its his decision making that kills him. He is the most technically sound player in the world. His performance at early percentage and his recoveries back to stage blow my mind. As well as how easy he makes kill confirms with chrom look. But what kills him is how he refuses to ever mix up his playing style. He misses out on fucking 70% of punishes and refuses to use smash attacks. Theres so many times he could get away with a smash attack without being punished, even if it doesnt hit. He tries to do the exact same thing from start to finish. And as good as he is, he doesnt thrive under pressure. Sometimes getting a little mad or excited can help boost your playstyle. I think shoyo james could easily be the best period if he could overcome this.

At the top level like this it’s bad to throw out f smashes. Sure some may hit but people like marss or mkleo or samsora will punish you hard for a miss. There are times he misses punishes and goes for a grab instead of an up b or a better punish but I understand why cuz the risk of missing and getting punished against these types of players is too high.

defoehammer i get that but like i said, theres time he could go for a great punish with no possible consequences, and he misses out cuz he rather for a neautral to a reversal back air or something

I think you're right. If you watch Mars during the set, he takes a lot of risks and whiffs a lot of smash attacks and up-specials. The real game changer in this fight is that Mars is a very risky player. You'll see Mars kamikaze into the blast zone during a set and trade stocks.

  • @defoe6370

Why does he need a secondary. Roy wouldn’t have been better in this situation considering that mars didn’t punish his up B very much. James threw game 1 but if he won that he would’ve been up 2-0 and I think he wins 1 more during the next 3 games. Nothing wrong with his chrom pick

@@daniela7281 that makes no sense. Chrom has far better neutral than Roy due to superior hitboxes. Roy's recovery is only slightly better anyway. James is losing because he is dropping 70% punishes (that Roy doesn't have) and mispacing when pressured. He's playing against the best players in the world. Game 4 didn't even have a gimp like what are you talking about.

Daniel Carcamo Chrom and Roy are vastly different. You can’t just switch at a major like that and expect to do well against the best in the world with a character you have not much experience on.
