Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A big compilation of clips, all filmed by storm chaser Dan Robinson, of snowplows battling the elements to keep the roads clear! Includes many types of plow trucks from five different states, including MODOT's "Towplow" and Buffalo, New York wing plows. I work for Public Works in Davenport Iowa...it all depends. Sometimes it can be ok, but you are always on call during the winter and it interferes with a lot of weekends. It sucks when you are on call and there is a very small chance of snowing but you still cant make plans and then it ends up not even snowing.

Why do people follow so close behind plow trucks? Never mind the safety and distraction issue, think about what salt and especially brine [24% salt, where sea water is about 1% salt concentration) is doing to your underbody, steel or aluminum wheels, and paint job? Do it for your car! Try not to pass, and if you absolutely MUST pass, stay out of the spray!

I get doing main roads first but my city never dose residential roads. Like it snowed so bad where I live once like a foot of snow and not even my 4X4 truck could get down my street too much dam snow. Everyone on my street came out with there shovels and we kinda made a lane in the middle of the road to drive down. City didn’t plow it at all. Kinda useless to plow a main road and not touch side roads when no one can get through to the main roads

The front and wing plows use gravity, which is usually sufficient. However, there are times when it's snowing for a while near freezing and mostly slush. That slush finally and suddenly freezes and now there is a thick layer of snow. NYS DOT has plows with mid body mount blades in addition to front and wing plows that uses the weight of the truck and salt to remove the snow.

  • @MedusaSRT

Yes because if you have the blade flush and you hit a manhole or the edge of the blade clips something it can stop your truck instantly... causing harm to the operator and the equipment.. we run 1-3 inches off the ground with our front plows because they’re static don’t have hydraulics like our belly plows the belly plows float front blade does not so..

For plow trucks, they have road guidance systems in their trucks that help them to follow the path of the unplowed road and others just follow the White poles along the edge of the highway, the white florescent poles are designed to keep people on the road when visibility is not good.
