NOT SURE ON WHAT PLOW manufacturer it is and the scrapes 8 to 10" apart and some 2' some 3' in different directions. Thank you for your offer to look at it but it's not that important. When I call him and tell him I'm going to get it fixed I just don't want to pay every year to keep fixing it. There was one or 2 scrapes the year before and this season they have doubled. Maybe in a nice way I can suggest what the problem is.

Jean Marie, good luck in your endeavor, I can only guess what he will have to say, but bring it to his attention just the same.

could you tell me what causes a plow to make scrapes/digs on a paved driveway. My guy has made scrapes in my drive what needs to be fixed on his plow?

Jean Marie that is an interesting question, I'm not really sure, let me ask you a couple of questions. What is manufacturer of his plow? Do the scrapes look like they are at an angle or perpendicular to the edge of the asphalt. If it is a fisher plow like mine, week or missing springs can cause the cutting edge to slip back under load and scrape dirt and asphalt. If it a western plow they will scrape simply because of there design. But in most cases it is due to poor spring pressure at the blade release mechanism. The other type of cause is a plow that is to high in the attachment point at the truck frame. As you can tell by my answer, there are a lot of variables. The biggest downer is the type of asphalt and or the condition of the asphalt. Where are you located? If you are close to me I might come take look. I once plow a parking lot that had environmentally friendly asphalt put down and the owner asked me if would plow them. Fortunately for me I got to look at it before winter set in, and asked for a signed and noteized agreement that I would not be held responsible for any damage to their asphalt. It was the most hideous crap I haver seen in asphalt. It had little to binding capabilities what so ever, the very first storm I plowed it all into nice big pile at the end of the lot. They sued the town for a new lot and won.
