i don't think the point of the movie is to give you a landmine for an ending, the danger was very real and he had no reason not to think a metallic clicking in the middle of the desert wasn't another landmine after his mate got blown up and the story with the little girl dying to another were revealed to him. He's got tested by life and he passed that test, nothing more.

It couldn’t have been a land mine because he clearly stepped off it a few times during the storm, falling asleep, and fighting against the wild dogs. The fact that he thought it was real enough was convincing for him especially since he just watched his friend die.

@@gru6y17it depends. Crudely hand made anti-personnel mines do exist and they’ve been known to work where once pressure is released only then do they explode. I’ve seen it first hand overseas.

I remember watching this movie, honestly it was very good and the twist at the end was great. But the whole story and it's message are way more impactful when watching it firsthand, so sadly some of the emotional weight was lost in this video. However, this recap is still very good and managed to keep the essence of the movie mostly intact. For anyone interested, i highly recommend giving this movie a chance, you won't regret it.

No it's not. It's just Hollywood garbage and they don't know how landmines work.

FYI the us army has very rigidly adhered to the Geneva convention policy of not engaging enemy combatants at family events or funerals or memorial services. And while our drone operations have been more nonchalant the army soldiers are respectful. Thus no commanding officer would tell the soldier to take the shot.
