Tired of Samsung trying to push their Exynos to regions apart from US and its own home country. Clearly, they need to shift Exynos to some A series models. Qualcomm should be the ONLY process of choice for S series phones. Not only because of raw power, but also optimization and the resultant overall experience.

Yes. I need compact phone, so I'll go with S23. These benchmarks does not mean anything. Even Exynos 2200 was close to SD 8 gen 1, but it had heat problems and battery was way worse than SD. Only real life usage matters.

US phones do work in Europe, of course, otherwise Americans on vacation would have no signal. The problem is that often US phones don't have the same carrier aggregations for 4G and 5G and since the phone is not meant for the European market, it won't have those carrier aggregations activated, even if the modem technically supports them. If you were to compare the speeds that you get on your S21 with a European S21 next to each other, your phone would probably get significantly lower speeds. Also, VoLTE and VoWiFi won't work, 5G won't work too most likely. Recent iPhones don't have issues like that and I have friends with iPhones from the US that work with VoLTE, 5G and so on without issues.

Nice review thank you very much! For me it was never about performance. Battery life and those stutters you had in the review video were the main issues with the S22 Exynos and here in your video, I see the same issues again. And that worries me. Even with the S22, there were big differences between the Exynos 2200 itself, probably because Samsung couldn't ramp up production fast enough and had to increase the tolerance for chips that were deemed OK. So there were people who had hardly any problems with their Exynos 2200 or people like me who had an overheating piece of lame technology that ran out of breath after 3-4 hours of screen-on-time (moderate use). I already had the suspicion back then that Samsung had issued review devices that had particularly good performance in QA. And I assume exactly the same pattern here again. So I'll definitely wait and see what the buyers report before I even consider an Exynos ever again.

I could have bought any phone available with any SOC I wanted etc. yet I purposely picked the standard S24 as my main phone 😊 Compact yet powerful enough for everyday use. Good video, but sadly there are multiple caveats in your video. I think your S24+ was not done with the setup process as can be seen when it is chugging. Secondly, you should have directly compared it to an equivalent Snapdragon S24+ because the Ultra has a larger vapour chamber and larger surface area and titanium which conducts heat better. Also, multiple other reviews have shown the Exynos outperforming the Snapdragon in terms of raw performance, battery life and temps. You stating that the Snapdragon is a 3/3 winner in benchmarks looks like it’s a runaway winner but that could well be up to the silicon lottery and a 2-5% difference is not enough to conclusively give away a winner when there are multiple variables other than the chipset affecting the results. Also Adobe Rush has been known to optimised notoriously. For years it only ran well on iPhones, now Snapdragon as well, so I don’t think that was a fair real world comparison. You should’ve run the 30 min CPU throttle test as well which would have pushed the cpu to its absolute most to see which one overheats first or throttles performance to give us a better picture of stability side by side. I think this video could’ve been much more comprehensive if you didn’t rush into making it as soon as possible and took a little more time to research and then test both the phones. I think that would’ve provided a much more realistic and fair comparison between the chipsets.

The setup isn't supposed to bring the performance down to such levels, especially when it's not actively happening. Overheating so hard that the UI lags like this also isn't a thing - you'd get a warning before that happens. I think Premiere Rush or just OneUI itself got the GPU driver into a loop or caused some kind of resource leak.

The Exynos 2400 is a huge improvement, and better than I expected it to be given how disappointing the 2200 was. Sure, it may not be up to par with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some areas, but it's still a solid performer no matter how you look at it. If I were buying an S24/S24+ outside of the US, it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me. On a side note, I really hope the Tensor G4 ends up being a modified version of the Exynos 2400. I know raw performance isn't what the Pixel is all about, but the Tensor G3 barely keeps up with an 8+ Gen 1 and gets absolutely destroyed by the 8 Gen 3. I wouldn't care so much if the Pixel 8 could handle normal tasks without breaking a sweat, but in my experience, it struggles at times when it really shouldn't. Want to take 48/50MP photos? You better have a tripod because you have to hold the phone still for a few seconds while it takes the shot (even in good lighting). I haven't seen that kind of processing lag while taking photos since my old SD865 OnePlus 8T, and it's something they absolutely need to fix with the Pixel 9. /off topic rant

I think its software support since Qualcomm definitely has more developers; when it boils down to CPU scheduling 10c vs 8c only works well if the software is up to snuff ( looking at you intel P + E cores) owing to the fact Android is optimized for Qualcomm with 6 to 8 cores being the standard. Really the GPU is fascinating because it shows a real maturity of Exynos + AMD architecture with substantial efficiency during ray tracing and better frames per watt. But yes s24 has learnt something from tensor I guess and there's a lot more AI than was on the SD gen2 on s23... Everything seems more refined and looks better specially the photos... They are like an altogether different output than any of the Samsung s series phones I've had... Yes the battery though been only 1 day I see is not as good as the pixel... But that might improve... I'm at 36% already and its only 4pm.. Phone doesn't heat or throttle as of now... was using it all morning in hot Indian sunlight taking pictures at a zoo... 👍 from me for this phone... I shall say, although the S24+ consumed a bit more battery in this test, it was running the games at significantly higher frame rates. In war thunder you had 70 fps on the Ultra, while the S24+ was getting over 100 fps. So you got more performance out of the phone. If the frame rate was capped to match it between the devices, I would argue that the battery consumption would have been more equal.

Please do a comparison with a retail S24U bought in your region where the S24/S24+ have Exynos AND a retail S24U from the USA. In the past in 'mixed' regions it seemed like Samsung played with the software on the Ultra models so they didn't blow away the Exynos. So, for a day I got to use both the Exynos and Snapdragon S24+ from a seller and yep, it's the same old story. Sd8gen3 has better thermals, less battery drain, less idle/stand-by battery drain, a bit better network and 5G range. Initially, both the Exynos and SD will perform equally well in gaming but after 20mins+ the Exynos starts dropping frames and also heats up more.... doesn't overheat tho. (Tested only Genshin Impact). Also, it seems that the ISP is again superior on SD. In low-light, the SD variant takes more detailed and less noisy photos, the videos are more detailed. The colours and contrast too seem slightly better on SD but it's negligible I guess. The Exynos needs optimization it seems but the gap will still remain. So even though the Exynos shows equivalent numbers in synthetic benchmarks, in reality the Sd8gen3 simply performs better. As Samsung is taking help from Google, it seems that AI processing isn't an issue irrespective of the soc. But yeah, Sd8gen3 is a better chip but the Exynos 2400 has improved greatly. *PS:* As per local sellers, they import SD variants of Samsung as people demand those more even in grey-markets 🗿 Cheers 🥂

I got my S24 plus yesterday. So far it's performing like the S23 regular I got rid of which performed brilliantly. I'm definitely annoyed about the chip saga especially after what they did with the S23 models last year. It's clearly not as good as the 8gen3. People saying it's better than before which is fine but that's not what we're paying for. Obviously I'd be expecting better performance then my S23 with 8gen2 but so far cannot see a difference. Also, the bottom speaker sounds muffled to me. It's loud but could sound clearer and fuller if they put a bigger slit in. It's only a small slit which doesn't make sense. Surely common sense would tell you that the smaller slit is holding the speaker back from performing better. That's the only gripe I have. The ultra has this tiny slit aswell and it's not as good as the iPhone 15pro as I watched earlier on that Mr whos the boss guy. I bet they'll realise this and put normal to bigger size grills or slits like everyone does next year. It's a lovely phone to hold and play with. I still have two weeks to change my mind and may get the ultra if I experience any exynos bullshit 😩
