Smt Zarin Daruwalla (Sharma) is the reason I started playing Sarode in 1968. Forever, thank you.

I am an ardent listener of Akashvani Raagam channel. Today i heard Vid. Zarin Sharma's sarod and was mesmerised. I have no words to explain my feelings. I searched for her video in YT and landed here. Your comments gave me a clear picture of the great musician. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

J N PONDA, 727A PRATHAM, UGF SHOP 1, PUNE 411030. ...OWNER OF THE PHOENIX LIBRARY..............Back in the 60s and 70s access to Indian CLASSICAL music was not easy. We eagerly awaited for Saturday to arrive. All India Radio offered good CLASSICAL vocal and instrumental music in National Program. "Akashwani" was a weekly or fortnightly mouth-piece of All India Radio. It also published the names of musicians who would perform in the National Program. Names like Zarin Daruwala, Ali Akbar Khan, Hirabai Barodekar's, Shhanu Khurrana, Padma Shaligram, Shushila Tembe, etc. had tremendous attraction for us! And, my God!, what a Radio we had! ....."Phillips Maestro" in a teakwood case with twin speakers! When it came alive with Zarin Daruwala's Malkauns, my spartan room metamarphosed into Indra Darbar! In that tiny room, time stood still and we went into a time-warp from 9.30 to 11.00 p m! ....... I am sure Zarin Sharma and Zarin Daruwala are one and the same! Sarod is too difficult to be mastered by two Zarins!!!!

Thanks Raju. I had no idea of the existence of this video (before you mentioned it yesterday) at all. The music is delightful (video is not 100% in sync with the audio -- likely a YT conversion artefact).

Pt Vaibhav Nageshkar I think. He has his own KZread channel. Not visible in this video but is seen in another video of the same recording.

When will people leave the nakedness of lopez, madonn, shakira and stop saying them music and will lean towards these true musicians where music truely takes you to the infinite cosmos.

True... Where is music there.. I fail to find any.. They just come, shout, people also never listen to them.. People also start shouting even before them and then get drunk, hit each other and go back
