How have I gone this long without finding this guys videos??? As in depth as anyone and I haven’t seen anyone as passionate about the craft as him
Like many others here, I love the “out of the box” thinking here… and love his style and very obvious passion for his craft…. Liked and subscribed for sure… look forward to more of his content….👍🏼👍🏼
This is the second of your videos i’ve watched in as many weeks. Breaking the cycle of too much butter, brown sugar and honey in the foil is a paradigm shift for me, but based on your cook it looks like a game-changer. Thanks for the detailed narrative along the way!

I had to go through the same mental shift too bro. I’m not saying never do it, but you’ll come to love a simpler approach I’m certain here and there. Enjoy boss 🍻
Honestly one of the best rib cooks I've seen! Very valid point about overdoing it with the sugar, sauce, butter etc - I've steered away from this recently too towards a more 'simple' rib and the results are hands down better.

Thanks for the comment and support brother. I agree, I feel like there’s a time and a place for it. But the candy ribs of old are starting to fall into the background to a far more edible rib like this one. Again, thank you for the support!

Hi I know you aren't using real measurements, but can you elaborate just a little and roughly the mix of whomp sauce slather in ounces? Mostly for the blue hogs, whomp sauce, butter, and apple cider mix. For me I would only add the sugar water if necessary. Thanks

My guy! I just found you tonight from your fire management video. I started smoking meat eleven years ago when my wife bought me a bullet smoker for our first anniversary. The only person on YT at that time was Malcolm Reed and I did everything he said. "If this wins competitions, it's good enough for me." It took me years to realize even he doesn't eat ribs covered in margarine, honey and brown sugar. Man, that mess is for one bite - I want to eat one rack! You nailed this cook. Looking forward to more videos. You definitely know how to cook.

Bro can’t thank you enough for dropping this comment. Malcom has always been a YT OG but gosh darn did he move a generation to cook some competition ribs as a main course meal haha. I think we’ve all come to realize that everything has a time and place in BBQ and most time a highly edible cook is more often preferred over a hyper flavorful cook. I agree with you 100%. Thanks again for the support bro, means a lot!

I just started subscribing to your channel today and I’ve watch all your cook videos, top notch my friend! I just received my Goldees Pit a couple weeks ago and was just able to cook on it for the first time this weekend, it’s awesome! M&M BBQ said they did a linseed oil seasoning on the outside before delivering it and since it’ll be outside in the North East where I live, what are your thought on that?
@MeatNGreetBBQ
4 ай бұрын
My brother thank you for supporting the channel. It truly means a lot! That Goldees pit is going to turn out some darn good bbq. Stoked to hear how your first few cooks go, keep us update 🙏 Linseed is a great coasting and protectant against most conditions. I always default to covering it up if possible. What i do is buy a cheap tarp from Ace hardware or something and throw it over the cook chamber then close the smoke stack down. But I think you’ll be fine with the coating that’s on there for a pretty long while.
@Redzbbq21
4 ай бұрын
Awesome, I did end up getting a tarp to cover it and closed the stack and also threw a bucket over it to be extra safe. I was actually a casualty of the Fatstack craziness and M&M really took care of me so I’m more than excited to finally have a top quality smoker which they delivered 2 months early! As for my first cook this past weekend I did a rack of ribs and some chicken thighs, definitely learned a lot the other day lol but it all turned out really good.
Already subscribed brotha! Ribs look great. Gonna try your slurry on some baby backs. It’s all I have at the moment. $2/lb. Couldn’t turn it down! LOL. My smoker is a bit smaller than Oklahoma Joe but not by much.

@MeatNGreetBBQ
2 ай бұрын
Hey brother, not sure I totally understand the question but I’d say nothing is different. Do it exactly the same as you saw here (maybe pull the membrane if your smoker doesn’t have great convection). Other than that it’s all transferable regardless of smoking apparatus. 👍
Did you let them rest after pulling?
@MeatNGreetBBQ
4 ай бұрын
Just rested them long enough to cool to a temp that’s edible 👍
Is spritzing absolutely necessary? As the fat renders out wouldn’t that make them wet? Honest question
@MeatNGreetBBQ
18 күн бұрын
Great question! Pork ribs are a much thinner cut of meat compared to meats like briskets. I prefer to sprits once my bark is set to add topical moisture. Just helps keep the ribs from getting too dry and potentially splitting or cracking.
