🧂Ingredients:
1 chuck roast (2-4 inches thick)
Your favorite beef rub or salt, pepper, and garlic (S&P&G)
Better Than Bouillon beef base
1/2 onion
1/2 cup water
Your favorite bread or rolls
🧂For the Horseradish Sauce:
1/2 cup sour cream
2 Tbsp prepared horseradish
2 Tbsp mayo
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
Black pepper to taste
🥘Directions:
1. Generously apply rub to all sides of the chuck roast. Let it sit at room temperature for up to 45 minutes.
2. Preheat your Zgrills to 275°F.
3. Place the chuck roast on the center or top rack with a tin underneath to catch drips.
4. After 2 hours, spritz the chuck roast with water or a 50/50 mix of water and apple cider vinegar.
5. At the 3-hour mark, check the internal temperature. It should be around 160°F.
6. Slice up 1/2 onion and mix with 1 teaspoon of Better Than Bouillon beef base and 1/2 cup water. 7. Place the chuck roast and onion mix in a tin and tightly cover with foil.
8. Continue cooking at 275°F until the meat is tender (around 200°F internally).
9. Carefully remove the foil to avoid steam. The total cook time should be around 4 hours.
🍴To Serve:
Remove any excess fat from the chuck roast and slice or pull for sandwiches. Use the reserved juices (au jus) for extra flavor. Serve on your favorite bread or rolls with the horseradish sauce.
