The drummer is a monster, a total legend on the sticks, so big shout out to Ian Paice, who is still playing strong

Micheal Anthony lives near Scottsdale. Checkout Chickenfoots version of Highway Star.

❤ my oldest brother played bass, made me learn this on bass. Wouldnt let me quit till i knew it❤😂😂 saw 2 shows of their 2018 tour with Judas Priest. Saw two, because the first show, Priest played first, by the end od the night my mind was blind cause i had just witnessed deep blowing priest off the stage😂😂 had to go see that show again.😂😂😂 Ian still hitting those high notes along with Rob Halford. ❤❤ Check out Child In Time, ❤ drum solo, keyboard solo guitar solo and vocals that will leave you speechless. But has to be that live version.❤😂😂

The guitarist featured here, who has played with them for twenty years, is Steve Morse, who is a guitar legend in his own right. He recently retired from touring with them.

You need to listen to the 1972 double live album "Made in Japan" for the definitive versions of Highway Star, Child in Time & Smoke on the Water, the entire album still holds up as one of the best live albums to this day

Not one I would have played. Without Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord, this pales in comparison. You needed to go way back to the early 70's.

The Steve Morse era is incredible. Anything from 94 onwards deserves to be played. Ritchie has been out of the picture for so many years now. People need to move on

@@jessemcdonald3836 ...that's how people talk who don't know R. Blackmore and have never heard him play!! ... For many musicians R.B. until the 1980s a role model! They wanted to play guitar like him!! … How easy it is to forget if you are not always present and do not cause scandals!!

@@AAndromeda-lw7fh - you do realise that there’s a thing called the internet and you can listen to people on it? RB is fantastic! But we are each entitled to an opinion. I personally far prefer Morse. The common theme with all you Blackmore worshippers is that you get so cut and upset when someone prefers another guitarist over RB. Most of you are still crying since 1993 when he left Deep Purple. MOVE ON!

This newer, more current version of DP includes the same singer, bassist and drummer as the previous video you reacted to (Highway Star) but these two videos are about 40 years apart. Sadly, their original keyboard player passed away a few years ago and was replaced here by Ozzy’s former keyboardist, Don Airey. And their original guitarist who wrote all those bad ass riffs and solos, was Richie Blackmore (not seen in this video) who hasn’t played with DP for many years and has a bit of a contentious history with the band members. He’s also known to be a dick (remember the VH story) to just about everyone he encounters. He plays mid eval music now, lives in a Castle and has a hot young wife.

Ya, I was just seeing something else about Blackmore and him being a prick. Conversely, a guy commented about Joe Lynn Turner. Said he's the funniest, coolest dude. Amazing how there are A-holes in every profession. Had to be hard to have to work with Blackmore as bandmate.

Thanks. Had no idea who is playing keyboards now, he is fcking killing then though. Does a fabulous tribute to John Lord during their live shows. Have one on video.❤❤
