Shouldn’t require moon clips to avoid light primer strikes. One thing to check is to make sure the mainspring screw is not loose.

I got this one delivered today.... wowed me big time when I held it.... then wowed me beyond my imaginations when I shot with it. I shot 100 rounds from it and I ran out of ammo... It is an awesome gun and I love this gun. When I shot some of the 38 Special out of this gun it felt like shooting .22 LR.

Great review! Quick and fun. For me it's an "Almost, but not quite". Four things keeping me from grabbing one any time soon; I already have a Glock 29 that I greatly enjoy, I don't like unfluted cylinders, The lock, and that it has an MSRP over a thousand dollars. Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in buying one. It looks like it would be a perfect addition to my collection and my objections aren't all that strong. The Glock is nice and 10mm fills the compact magnum just as well as a .357; redundancy isn't a bad thing in our collections though. Chamber flutes are mostly cosmetic, the ounce they save and the reference guide to the charge holes aren't that big a deal, but I hear S&W will get you a proper cylinder for a pretty penny or two so it's a consideration. The lock can be fixed, nuff said. But the biggest issue is that MSRP. If I lose that G29 for any reason it won't be that crushing a loss and replacing it won't be the end of my world. This is why I use Glocks, I don't love them. I don't feel guilty for not babying the poor thing either. A $1,000+ firearm getting so much as a scuff mark would be nerve wracking, a scratch might bring me to tears. Now, if I find myself an option to pick one up used, I won't hesitate. Until then I might wait until I have a few other items on my wishlist in the safe first.

If you're have "light primer strikes", I would send it back to S&W for repair. I have the same gun, I never use moon clips, and I have not had one. That's shooting both hand loads and factory ammo,-zero light primer strikes. No one should buy this gun expecting to have light primer strikes if you don't use moon clips. Yes the rounds rattle around in there on one side but, if you notice the rounds that are up next to fire are always seated in-battery. Seriously brother I would send that thing back....

The light strike issue is not due to not using clips. With rimmed cartridges like this it seats on the side of the cylinder and thus you can shoot with or without clips. Might have been your ammo at the time or maybe your straining screw was not screwed in enough.

8 rounds is super cool, unless you need 9. You can count on the 8 though, no matter what. I've never had a revolver missfire on me, i've had numerous jams on semi autos though. In a gunfight, nothing could be worse, and in a gunfight, you likely won't be able to reload that revolver before the fight is over. There is definitely something to be said about having absolute faith in the first 8 rounds

No you don't wanna shoot this inside the car. Somebody shot thrice inside the car, and he suffered from temporary hearing loss. But I like this gun. The good thing is when you're able to control this gun proficiently, and make fast double taps... when you shoot a 9mm, it's like bb.
