A friend of mine has one of these. I was pleasantly surprised when I first shot it thinking the wood grips were gonna bit, it did not at all. Now I really want one.

I like it. The heavy frame will make it much easier to shot than my S&W mod 60 357 Mag I know the 327 Magnum is not that popular BUT in this cylinder you could get 9 shots vs 8 shots of 357 Mag & if the cylinder was increased in diameter just about 1/10'' of an inch more it would most likely be capable of 10 shots. 327 Mag does very well in short barrels but again S&W is very unlikely to chamber another revolver in 327 Mag as the one they did introduce didn't stay in the catalog very long

not to be picky. but thank u for your honesty. when you pointed out the trigger guard being right up against the middle finger did it for me. I actually pay attention. thank you sir. my 686 deluxe has only one issue. a really thin trigger. like an old single action western gun. Hate it. wished it had a wide trigger. Yes i know im a puss. but when i hit the range i need what i need. And if i cant do it in practice i cant do it in a carry situation. just my stupid 2 cents. Thank you again.

How does that Kimber compare to something like a P365 size wise? It looks pretty tiny.

I have been looking at the PERFORMANCE CENTER® MODEL 327. This model has the same 8-shot capacity, a shorter 2-inch barrel, and the Scandium Frame (lighter weight). The grips are longer, too, though I figure it'll be a knuckle biter with full-power loads. My 629 with 2.5-inch barrel doesn't bite me as much as my old Ruger Super Blackhawk. I've been looking at after-market grips.

  • @jmichna1

I'm looking at the same Scandium frame, but am now leaning toward this SS option; even though an N frame and SS, it is no heavier than my trusty 4" 686 plus I get the two extra rounds, and - of course - that Performance Center trigger action. The factor pushing me in this direction is the slightly longer barrel length; I've seen published data showing that with .357 magnum ammo, you get about a 15-20% increase in muzzle velocity going from a 2" barrel to a 3" barrel (I know, the SS 627 is not quite 3"... more like 2.65" but there will still be some ballistics improvement... Anyway, that's my thought process.

I strongly doubt that 6 shots of 357 magnum properly placed wouldn’t solve most problems, but 8 shots may be more comforting to some.

@@lh8372if you're in a situation with 3-4 perps, for starters you probably have either poor situational awareness or poor decision making skills. Secondly, even in this scenario, 2 shots in each chest should easily end the fight. You wouldn't have time to make more shots than that anyway.

Mine had a 11-12lb trigger pull, so I had it backed down to about 8.5 (double action.) Had to replace the grips - needed something much larger. Have an IWB holster. It's bulky and heavy. Can carry in the winter, but not in the summer.

13:22. With large fingers and hands, how is that NOT ALSO a problem when using a smaller gun, such as the j-frame or k-frame?? And why isn't the problem at least somewhat solved by buying a different grip?
