The spacer is needed because the grip module on FPC is the compact version. If you own a M&P 2.0 9mm FS pistol, the 23rd mags with the spacer will not fit. Take off the spacer and they fit. If you don't have M&P pistol. As another viewer mentioned drop a little glue and call it good. Have a nice day.

It’s disappointing that M&P compact 1.0 magazines are too short for the FPC. So I guess from what you’re saying is that they redesigned the compact M&P and that’s just too bad for me. Dang it! I just run the gun with no spacers and conceal carry my full size 1.0 so my mags are compatible. Now my compact that has 3 different caliber barrels, 9mm, 40 S&W and .357 sig is just for fun. Take care and keep up your firearm skills.

Try the offset. An inch is everything when it comes to getting inside the eyebox on a prism site. I run prisms exclusively on rifles as Im nearly blind and red dots look like splatters. Ive found that having the optic back as far as I can on the rail makes getting in the eyebox faster and Im more consistent. When they are too far forward I find that I "hunt" for my reticle and end up slowing way down on follow ups. Nice reef tank BTW. Those tangs slap.

Great review. Your insights are really helpful. I love my FPC but it isn't perfect. I agree that the position for the rear sight/optic is a bit too far away from the eye. Taccom3g has a scope mount that screws into the rear of the receiver and that might fix the red dot sight issue. I'm tempted to try it.

Just checked it out. Honestly, I've adapted and I'm ok with the location. A red dot would have far less issue. The forward location is only somewhat of an issue for prisms. But this could be an option for those of us that want to move out rearward. Great find!

@@ICanDoItMyself yes, my full-size size 17 round magazines that I’ve had for many years require that stupid little spacer just like the 17 round mag that comes with the FPC. So I just rock them with no spacer because when I go for an extra magazine the first and second magazine, I’m grabbing is off of my belt and if I need more I will revert to the 2 X 23 round mags on board. I'm all in favor of pointing out deficiencies and areas that NEED improvement like the way the spare mags come out by pushing the button on the opposite side or the slide release button being unusable, but your rant about the space filler on the mag doesn't make sense to me. It's loose... but not when the mag is in the gun. Maybe someday they'll come out with a gun that'll take that mag and you'll have to remove that rubber thing to be able to use it. I don't know... but it doesn't cause any problem that I can see. if it's that much of an issue you can put a little silicon caulk or glue where you want the rubber to stay, and it'll stay there for a long time. The spare mag release mechanism needs to be redesigned and the slide release button needs to be slightly extended... Those are actual issues that you didn't even mention. The rubber filler on the mag is nothing at all.

I know you're not a fan of Kel-Tec because of your issues with your RDB, but I prefer the SUB2K hands down over the FPC. The FPC is certainly a cool PCC and it's definitely better quality than a stock SUB2K, but it cost nearly twice as much, is much bulkier and I feel it's silly to store mags in the stock. It just adds weight to the weapon and contributes to the bulk. It's a solution to a nonexistent problem. Hopefully there is or will be an option for a stock without this "feature". The weapon comes with no irons so unless you purchase something separately you're out of luck should your red dot get damaged or the battery dies. However, if you're not a fan of Kel-Tec, (the SUB2K can require a bit of creativity when accessorizing and Kel-Tec most certainly cut some corners in order to keep the cost down), and want a folding PCC then the FPC would probably be the way to go. Enjoyed the video, but was getting impatient when you spent so much time bitching about the magazines collar, (a complaint you see a lot of), but then chuckled when you stopped and just admitted you were on a rant.

A word of caution. Your vertical grip, I believe, is against ATF regulations. It's my understanding that when you put that VERTICAL grip, it now becomes a short barreled rifle subject to the ban on the vertical grip. You can install an angled type hand grip to bring it into compliance. I was told this by my area gun shop. I could be wrong though.

I've been kicking around the idea of picking up an FPC as my first S&W. I think S&W did a great job with the design, robustness, user interface aspects of it. I like practically every aspect of the rifle, HOWEVER, the 23 rd. mags just don't look right. While stowed in the butt they don't really look too funky. While loaded in the mag well, is another story. The generic and overly simplified look of the 23 rounder really takes away from the overall esthetics of the firearm. That's just my 2 cents though.
