In this guide series I take a look at each god’s respective abilities and describe how they function and what situations they are best used in. I also go over builds, relic choices, ability leveling, and combos with each God. The guides are typically made for new/returning players but I don't shy away from more technical ideas/mechanics, so who knows, you might learn a thing or two!
For builds the first build I put is the one I personally rely on/recommend, then, any other builds are sourced from high level players, usually referenced against builds from prosmitebuilds.com, which gathers builds from high level players in ranked and pro play.

    Also it's worth mentioning that aura items that deal damage to enemies near you like Mystical Mail will break the mesmerize ability almost immediately. So even though Mystical Mail is a great item, Kumba can't really build it since it makes his mesmerize useless (more so than what it already is).

    I've been thinking for a while and I believe I've thought of two simple buffs to rebalance Kumbha that would make him not only relevant but also rather futureproofed as a CC Guardian without radically changing his design. 1. Have his passive set to 10 hits from the start. Kumbha is not unkillable, and he's not meant to be, but having his passive set to 10 hits throughout the match means he is more difficult to kill in a duo lane, more of a distraction in teamfights, and a nightmare to deal with in 1v1s unless you can burst him down right after he wakes up. That means there's several seconds where a Solo might just be forced to screw around and wait for an easier kill. This gives Kumbha a greater ability to bully lanes in the early game and, most critically, means he can't be easily picked off by the token ranged Carry in the duo lane taking potshots at him from the edge of the tower line without help from another God or some attack speed buffs. This makes Kumbha harder to bully out of lane and pick off, making him less likely to be a consistent source of empty calories for the enemy Carry or Jungler, and it maintains the current mid-to-late game utility as a way of keeping Kumbha alive and disrupting the enemy for as long as possible. 2. Have Kumbha's Throwback skill only stop on enemy Gods. This would create a bit of a shotgun effect that would make the skill less predictable and increase the likelihood that Kumbha can use it to harass, and the current relatively short range of the dash also means that it wouldn't necessarily hit every minion in a wave unless they were clustered together. This would make Kumbha a more effective lane pusher and wave clearer as the game progresses, which would also give him an added utility in punishing teams who hide behind minion waves for protection by allowing Kumbha to both push and clear them by himself AND use that advantage against the enemy by turning their own minion waves into a not insignificant form of burst damage that scales based on positioning and timing. However, the biggest factor to consider is that it lets Kumbha close the gap towards enemy Gods without getting screened by the minions, which is a big deal.

    I would love that if his 1 ability could bump allies out of the way and enemies. Just that would make him viable.
