SMEG dishwasher Acquastop failure

SMEG dishwasher Acquastop failure - in the end after a year or so of putting up with this - we bought a new SMEG - we don't have that problem anymore - but we do have the arm which flies off all the time now and a load of dirty pots.

I had this problem as well, called out an engineer. He immediately diagnosed a split lower rotating arm, the big grey plastic arm the smaller green arm spins on. The split was spraying water sideways, directly at the seals causing them to leak. It was such a narrow slot along the join between the upper and lower arm moldings and wasn't noticeable at a quick glance. He took the front lower panel off and drained the pooled water off with a towel, which cleared the Aquastop. Must be a common fault because he had brought the part along with him and it was the first thing he looked at. I've got to laugh, I'm having all the same problems with my SMEG dishwasher as you! I think the next time the small green arm goes, I'll replace the lower grey arm at the same time. That is, if the dishwasher lasts another 5 years!

Just wanted to say, thank you! This video helped me and got my SMEG working + that useful warning about that fragile tab. I'll save up and budget in for an eventual replacement. Thanks x2

ta mate. even though it appesrs you shot the vid on a heirloom potato, I was able to solve the same issue. not anywhere as much water as you must've had. 2nd time in 8 years, last time it just magically solved itself but it'd been 2 days so glad I sussed out the cause. appreciated.

Did the issue come back after you cleared the fault? Wondering whether you had a persistent leak.

Or if you cannot be bothered just get a new dishwasher: "www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=new+dishwasher&ref=nb_sb_noss_1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=stellarbridge-21&linkCode=ur2&linkId=5f98f4da7b40c40aea2dd245c9c55e1a&camp=1634&creative=6738"
