It makes me feel like making the plastic must be the profitable part because there's no way kids actually want this crap, there can't be that much of a market for shitty last minute birthday presents

These videos are simultaneously such a joy to watch, and such a horror to see the plastic waste these companies are adding to the planet

I remember in the 90s we had weird colored plastic toys that went together just like those smash eggs. Think they were considered little odd shaped puzzles you had to build back together. Wish I could remember what those were. Seeing you break those eggs and hearing how the plastic sounds exactly the same when they fell apart is the only thing that has ever reminded me of them.

i went to Micheal's and they had a "100 PIECE ART GIFT BOX" and one of the items was a 50 page sketchbook and they COUNTED EACH PAGE AS A PIECE

Personally I HATE products like these. Don't get me wrong, they're fun to watch on youtube, and if i were a young child I'd probably have an entire 10 minutes of fun ripping it open. But the truth is that these types of products are basically useless once opened since the fun comes from opening them. There's no long term fun from it, and the plastic molded dinos as well as the layers upon layers of plastic wrapping is 100% just going to end up in plastic landfills.

The thrill of opening something not knowing what's inside is one of the key parts itself for me, plus the cool packaging etc.

These are much better than alot of the stuff since i can actually imagine a child playing with these.
