I’m a year late but just to explain the skylanders: Not all skylander bases twist - The DK and Bowser twist to toggle whether it is being used as a skylander or amiibo. The vehicles are exclusive to skylanders superchargers (the game that they are from). You use them in some parts of levels I think but are not related to the fact the figures are also amiibo. Each new skylander came with its own vehicle, including the DK and Bowser.

Fun fact: you can see at 31:32 Max got his hands on a first print Villager there. When they reprinted the villager amiibo's they edited the eyes to be smaller and closer together to make it look more like the ingame model. GUESS YOU HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR THE COMPLETIONIST FEEL MAXIE BOY

That Super Mario series to BoxBoy transition was so damn clean. Also, Very late. 2 years later and I have finally broken to the algorithm.

The reason why the koopa goomba and boo are rare is because The amiibos came from a dying game series to commemorate the release of Mario and Luigi superstar saga + Bowser‘s minions

Corrin, Robin and Byleth are avatars. They're meant to be self-inserts, which is why you can pick their gender at the start of the game and even cutsomize them a little bit. It's kinda like Pokémon.

Boxed Amiibos look pretty nice hanging in rows on the wall. Kind of silly to open to clutter your tables.

from what i know from the only fire emblem game i have (fire emblem fates birthright for the 3ds in case anyone wanted to know) corrin is the player character and the reason there is male and female is because you can customize pretty much everything about the character and make it someone you'd like to play as

Betcha this dude has two of every amiibo to do this video.

I just like to think of all the time and effort it would take to photograph, list, and ship all those boxed collectables. I think it is more worth opening them. You get to appreciate the detail of the figures and if you were never gonna sell em anyway, its no big deal. Also if you just keep them long enough eventually a loose one amiibo will become worth what you got them for boxed initally. So its all a wash. Good move imo tbh

Just saw the last Smash Bros character announcement. They're releasing an amiibo for the rest of the DLC characters so Max isn't done yet

Wish I had this collection. It's beautiful.

Max, you should contact someone about making you a custom oversized collection box with circle indents to better position the amiibos.
