It's really simple. You just need to set THAT object as a collision object, or a passive rigid body.

You just animate the object you want and hen set it to active or passive ridged body then select animate in the ridged body properties. Extra tip if you go object/ridgedbody/calculate mass- when every piece is selected it will calculate the weight based on the dimensions

Pro tip… in the menu where he’s doing the “copy from active” there’s another item called “calculate mass” If you do this blender will calculate the mass of each chunk based on size, for more accurate simulation. (You don’t want a big chunk weighing as much as a little chunk right)

Like the video, then click it again so it doesn't trigger the shorts interface.

Protip: Change the "Margin" under Mesh data to ACTUALLY 0.0. If you click on the value that says 0.00, you'll notice it's actually 0.001. IF you change this to 0.0 then the pieces won't have a visible edge around them.

Followed these steps exactly, but mine doesn't seem to work. On the latest version of blender.

@@BrainiacManiac142 I had the same issue. Turns out I had cells with overlapping geometry. Once I fixed the overlap it worked right.

Little tipp... this doesn't work as fluently as shown if you have objects intersecting. Example: A table where the top is one object and the legs are separate objects but you have them all as one object after finishing the model. You will have to either duplicate the objects and separate the parts into their own object data or you can keep as one object but separate the pieces in edit mode. They don't need to be far away, just not inside of each other.

I would really like to save this video for later but because it's a short I can't put it in my playlist!

Wouldn't it be easier to select all and go to object-rigidbody-add active and then change the values to then copy to selected? Also it would probably be more accurate to set the origin to volume and add an rigidbody constraint.
