Have you ever wanted to be able to control things like lights or windows with a few clicks on your phone? Whether that is turning off the lights when you fall asleep with them on, or walking up in the middle of the night because it’s too hot and you want to open a window without getting up. In this video, Milos goes over some simple ways of automating things in your room using an Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

I've been working on a similar project like this myself for some time to open and close my roman blinds. I've built the geared mechanism with a motor to drive it and I've been tinkering with a pi pico w, but haven't finished the project yet. For the moment the blinds are operated by holding a button until they're open or closed, so I'm keen to take some lessons from this video!
It feels like we can solve all the worlds problems with Node Red and MQTT haha
where do I find the build for the temperature sensor at the beginning of the video. that I could use. we don't have curtains or blinds ,lol
i'm confused little bit , do we use two RPI pico W or just one with the spaghetti box one ?

The Pico W is used in the new node that controls the windows, while the spaghetti box node is running on an Arduino MKR1000 WiFi, since I will upgrade that node in the future. Pico W can be used for both nodes and MQTT in the same way it was used in the new node.
