Yes. It is science-based and has revised it's handbook with additional methodology at different points since it's inception back in 1994.

My one problem with SMART is they are not transparent. They are not filing IRS 990’s or have much transparency of governance. Not filing IRS documents is a red flag, checks with Guidestar and other watchdogs confirm this.
