Dr. Joe Gerstein is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Founder of SMART Recovery. He is also a retired Harvard University professor and lectures at addiction symposiums. Joe introduced SMART to the world and has facilitated over 3,000 meetings. His passion and motivation for helping others is still going strong after 50+ years.     Very well said. I completely agree with how powerful a tool hobby development/finding topic's of interest can be for stabilizing sobriety. I found it to be an immensely power tool in helping me overcome the first few weeks of unease in the lifestyle change but also help maintain my sobriety.

    One takeaway: a relapse is no accident; it's premeditated. Another: The top three aspects for recovery are: 1) motivation; 2) motivation, and 3) motivation!
