always appreciate reactioners who put the timestamps themselves, thx
bro has fun
best album reaction ive ever seen
loved seeing this reaction to one of my faves
Invalid Litter Dept Sure is my favorite, it’s just amazing.
i was born in 89 so atdi is a little before my time but around 2002 my uncle, who always introduced me to great bands, introduced me to them as well as tmv. i have been a huge fan ever since. i’ve listened to this album front to back probably close to 100 times if im being realistic. btw, you’d make a great front man with that energy 👌👌👌
Video has to go down in album reaction history, I would love to see an album reaction to Room on fire by the strokes!

@@smamlistens9817 of course! And thats okay! Glad you liked it, I think you would be interested in Turn On The Bright Lights by Interpol
as a long time lover of ATDI and by extension The Mars Volta, I'm constantly surprised by the lack of respect for Jim, Paul and Tony, who went on to form Sparta. They were 3 of the 5 of ATDI after all. Porcelain, or Wiretap Scars is worth a listen for anyone interested in the other side of the Mars Volta coin

I don’t like TMV NEARLY as much as ATDI, and it’s solely because I love Jim Wards backing vocals. Even in the disastrous live performances dude is there holding it down in all the chaos
Why was Enfilade reaction removed? That's the best teack on the album.
That unwound album is incredible, but I wouldn't call it heavy. Heavy on the atmosphere, maybe. Unwound kind of made a departure from noise rock in their last few albums and Leaves Turn Inside You is like the culmination of those efforts. It's in my personal top 10 for sure. Drive Like Jehu is incredible too, for different reasons. It's a noise rock/post hardcore classic. And wow that was pretty lucky for the ATDI pick lol. I'm not a huge Mars Volta fan but I love ATDI.

No love for cap’n jazz😢
looks like you listen to a lot of music, keep it up mate !!!
Get it BOY. Get IT!😌
This to me back to college when it came out. Loved this when it came out. Was so sad that they then broke up. Neither mars nor sparta really worked for me. Even if you don't do a reaction check out the song metronome arthritis
Drive Like Jehu was a direct influence on At The Drive-In. I believe the ATDI lead singer, Cedric, said in an interview that there would be no Relationship of Command without Drive like Jehu. When it comes to DLJ, everyone talks about Yank Crime and for good reason, but their first album is incredible as well, a more "mainstream post-hardcore" sound. Still quite noisey and technical, but faster and shorter songs than Yank Crime. Can't recommend either album enough especially if you liked Relationship of Command. You will hear their influence on ATDI immediately.

Yeah I'd honestly say Omar's guitar work would not be the same without Drive Like Jehu. John Reis' noodly feedback heavy guitar style is honestly probably the reason why Omar noodles around so much (whether you like it or not). Yank crime is an amazing album though and its pretty energetic for an album with mostly 5-10 min songs.
Its interesting how you talk about their emo influence cause At the Drive In was way more emo with their earlier records. Its weird because as opposed to other post hardcore bands at the time they became heavier and more dissonant with each successive album. Also about the MCR bit there is a live video where you can see the guitarist of MCR in the audience. Would honestly recommend watching any of their old live videos because they're easily the most chaotic/energetic live videos I've ever seen. Fun fact: thats iggy pop doing the additional vocals on Rolodex Propaganda.

yeah I'd say the emo isn't so much in the overall sound as it is in some of the specific melodies
Vaya is actually the precursor to ROC. Take a listen and you'll see how that EP builds up to the actual album.
One of my all time favourite albums, great reaction! Also, do my eyes deceive me or is Cardiacs - Sing To God on your list? You absolutely MUST react to that, Cardiacs are my single favourite band by a huge margin (I have 2 Cardiacs tattoos and I'm considering 2 more) and Sing To God is their masterpiece, it's unlike anything else you'll ever hear
Please listen to mt eerie by the microphones 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 PLEASE
