No it wasn’t. It’s not the cape from Krypton that came from the Fortress of Solitude so it doesn’t have any meaning, not even a symbolic one. You can see Clark completely disregards it as he has no connection to it.

She knows deep inside of her heart he can never be that with her and she knows he will eventually embrace his destiny one day but she won’t be there by his side someone else will be AND WE ALL KNOW WHO THAT WILL BE!!!!!!!!!

nope. She didn’t feel someone other would be by his side. Lana wanted Clark to accept his destiny but at the same time she didn’t want him to stay alone (it was his biggest fear). That’s why Lana decided to change herself. She put on the suit FOR CLARK. Then she lied everyone she did it for herself because she didn’t want someone blame him for it.

DAMN ILOVE THIS VIDEO TOO MUCH OMG

This show was so hell-bent on keeping Clark on that farm in Smallville since after his senior year in high school. Which made the show drag on for a several more years. Even the Lana train went on so long that it was becoming more of a soap opera than a background story about Clark Kent. More importantly just out of my curiosity why did he leave that weird-looking Cape hanging on his farm fence?

I think at around season 6 and onward, the show didn't know what it wanted to be. Actually, the executives gave restrictions to the writers on what they could and couldn't do. A famous one being "No tights, no flights" meaning Clark wasn't allowed to fly until he donned his suit. Plus they refused to actually show Welling in the suit. Actually, it was probably Welling as well who refused to wear the suit. The show was trying to move forward into Superman lore by focusing on Metropolis more and the Daily Planet, introducing characters like Lois and Jimmy, Lex becoming the main villain, and yet for some reason the writers wouldn't abandon the Lana love interest plot. The writers got so desperate they even tried to do Zod and Doomsday, who should never have shown up until Clark is Superman. What I don't understand is why wouldn't they let Clark become Superman earlier? Sure, its about his origins, but the show could have covered the early years of Superman in Metropolis, they could have even changed the show name from Smallville to Metropolis. Instead the show has Clark essentially become Superman, without the name, suit and the cape but instead have him wear leather jackets and long black trench coats while operating at night. Also the cape scene at the end hanging from the fence was probably just to look cool and symbolic, doesn't make much sense but don't overthink it.

Jon Arbuckle if that was their goal then they should’ve either A end the show with Jonathan Kent die, Lana and Clark break up (Permanently) she leaves Smallville for good, Clark finds the key to the FOS and he leaves town for his next journey. Or don’t make a series about Superman if there ain’t gonna be “no flights and no tights” rule. Tom did an okay job as a young Clark Kent but if wasn’t willing to wear the cape and tight then maybe they should’ve casted someone else.

@@jonarbuckle778 The main reason is as you already said, Tom didn't want to wear the suit. The writers did want him to wear it at some point, but he refused it outright. So they had to play around with that out of the picture. The other reason they didn't make him become the iconic hero much earlier, is that he didn't know how to fly. More like he knows how to fly, just that he made himself unable to. At first, it was because of his fear of heights, but that was conquered later. The death of his adopted dad and his self-doubts, including rejecting his kryptonian side and, his wanting to be a normal human became weights on his consciousness which grounded him.

This series should end RIGHT HERE when he hang the cape outside and walk to the house to Lana. He doesn't have to save the western world and Lana doesn't have to save the eastern world. They should just stay in the farm and make babies. Loved babies is saving the world too.

@@eobardthawne9541 that scene was written by the duo Don Whitehead & Holly Henderson, one of Smallville’s screenwriters. So ‘Crisis’ is not fanfic but original story. But I totally agree with you that it ruined Smallville’s main idea.
