Even though mostly everyone expected a battle between darkseid and clark in the finale like I did, it was still satisfiying and enjoyable. Great cgi for a tv show. Thank you smallville cast and crew for ten wonderful years, I have watch faithfully. Will definitely get the series on dvd this fall.

This save scene was one of the most EPIC scenes. This was like THE defining moment when Clark's past alter-egos ended and Superman offcially began!! It was amazing!! Clark and Lois exchanging smiles at the window was beautiful. She knew exactly that he had fully accepted his destiny. Chloe's last line was also perfect: And that was the day the boy turned into Superman. Couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you GEM!

I just realized that if they had never introduced Lois back in season 4, this is how she and Clark/ Superman would have first met :)

Say HELL YEAH if you agree this series was the best incarnation of Clark Kent's origin story. Still sad that the series is over, but now they can focus on the reboot of the superman series so that would be cool.

there was only one thing missing, it is too bad Christopher Reeve was not able to be alive to see Tom Welling in the suit and doing the run and change that CR made famous. Thanks Smallville for the great fun and the wonderful addition to the Superman Franchise.

this was the best. no doubt about it. his father said cease your destiny and he did. just like peter pan did, clark held on to his happy thought and stayed in the air. jonathan kent said hold to smallville and after that it was done. clark did his matrix leap and changed into Superman in mid flight. it was so awesome to him in that suit and flying. i loved it and will miss it. come on cwtv bring it back.

I like how they never had Clark defeat Darkseid nor actually physically meet him, setting up when he does as Superman.

I 'm going to watch the whole episode now, and I feel already sad, cause it's to hard to say Goodbye to Smallville, I'm gonna miss all of them so badly (and mostly the chemistry between CLOIS) the smile of CK which used to brighten my saturday morning Argh*** Smallville all the way, the journey to become SUPERMAN ^_^

I can't stop watching it, one time after another... Just loved it... Such a great work, somehow makes me feel really happy :) Always loved superman since I was a little kid, It's been a pleasure watching smallville for more than 10 years... ^_^

An Epic Finale! It was very cool, but also a little bit sad that we never really saw Tom wearing the suit. He deserved it to be seen, even if it was just for five Minutes, as the Man of Steel! Oh and the Moment he flew over the peoples heads reminded me Dr. Fates Prophecy: "And when you show yourself to the World, people will look up to you in the sky, with hope for tomorrow!"

Did anyone else notice that the bit where he watched the planet go it was the same scene from superman returns where he let's the plane go just with a planet instead?

Great ending, loved every second of it. I only wished that they showed Clark in full uniform rather than a glimpse here and there, close up of face with cape in the background, etc.. C'mon, show more SUPERMAN! And make the spin-off already... the Legion of Doom with Solomon, Black Mantis and all the others in the previous episode is too big of a teaser -_-

We didn't ever see Tom in the suit (aside from shirt ripping at the end) properly- they could have rectified this by having some debris heading towards a kid or someone, Superman makes his first big save after which they thank him.

Kind of amusing that we never see him in the suit. Running at the camera with a T shirt under his clothes doesn't count. I guess a CGI Superman is better than nothing if you can't get that chicken to put one on.

@armitage36 Maybe they are not together in the future. In the comics Ollie has a son with a woman name Sarah Hawke, before he hooks up with Black Canary. Maybe Chloe is Sarah Hawke.

I'm sorry, but I must be one of the few who felt this was nothing more than a cop-out. I'd like to know where this "Superman" was that everyone says they saw? All I saw was a CGI rendering of the Blur and a couple of extreme close-ups of Clark with a cape billowing behind. This was all we got of this "Superman," and as someone who has viewed the show from the beginning, I was terribly disappointed.

I don't know what all the fuss is all about. I spend 10 years waiting to see Clark wearing the suit and I didn't even see that? And no Wonder Woman or Batman? Also no posibility of there being a Superman/Justice League movie with Tom? The begining doesn't matter very much when you can't get the full story. If I had seen Clark actually wearing the suit I would have been perfectly contended about the ending.

worst ending ever!!!! didn't even see a proper fight between superman and darkseid absolutely massive fricking let-down. worse ending than season 8 atleast we saw doomsday fight clark, pathetic man. what a shitty lil way to end smallville
