Hi Again Keith and thanks for the info on the plywood that's best used. After a week of pulling my hair out and getting no where on trying to figure these mitered angles I ran into another fellow turner that experienced the same. Had to share his comment he made to me since I no longer feel in the boat alone. His quote, " There are a few gaps here and there. Making one of these is tricky because you can't just check that things are square. Until final assembly, you can't be sure that it will all fit at all. The whole thing really is miter joints from hell". I keep hoping as you stated months ago that one day we may see a more detailed description on making this. Just trying to make one to say I did it. I certainly commend you on the time I know you put into this. These truly are "Miters from Hell"......ha

Very cool. I make origami dodecahedrons every Christmas for the tree-- never thought of using plywood instead of paper, but I might have to try this. If you're feeling insane, you could go for the 390 unit model. 12 pieces with five, and the rest are blocks of six. It would be about twice the height of the bigger one you made, so there won't be anywhere to store it afterwards. ...unless you have a spare bedroom with double doors you never use. Great vid. Thanks!

Hi Keith, love the work you do. Noticed in your video that the plywood your using has 13 layers of veneer. Is this Marine Plywood or a type of Birch plywood. Hard to find plywood with this many layers, but I realize it's the layers that give that great look once it's sanded. I'm assuming this is not the run of the mill Home Depot stuff.

R Roe Thanks 👍🏼. It’s called Baltic birch or Russian birch. I use 3/4” B/B grade. I get it from my plywood distributor, but you can special order it at Menard’s here in the Midwest. About $75 for a 4x8 sheet. Most birch ply is only birch on the face veneers. Baltic is birch all the way through.

Your spheres are beautiful! Are you still making and selling these sculptures? Is your work as perfectly rounded as they seem to be? What are the weights of your 5" and 9" Baltic models? Thank you!

Thank you 👍🏼 I do still make these, mostly by special order now. I have others on my website oddballgallery.com. They are not perfectly round, but I am getting better. I judge the “roundness” more by feel than than by measurement. The 5” is about 1 lb and the 9” is about 3 lbs.

Love your videos. This one was missing the hard rock music track. The music on the other video kicked ass, and amped me up into making shit.

ODDBALL GALLERY - Keith Williams That would be awesome. On your last video I commented that "Your music and craftsmanship made me to want to build something in my shed-but I didn't have a shed." I then commented that "Your music and craftsmanship made me to want to build a shed. I completed my shed two weeks ago.

PhantomFilmAustralia I know your comment got a lot of 👍🏼That is cool. From now on If someone comments on the “crappy” music I will tell them about your shed. No one ever built a shed listening to classical music.
