Some time ago I build a small crosscut sled for my Proxxon mini table saw. One of the best things you can add to your table saw. So I decided to make a small table saw sled for my Dewalt table saw - DWE7491RS. The design is very similar to the Proxxon saw sled. The body is made of Birch plywood and the runners from oak. The fence has a T-track slot which can be enhanced with a stop block. I also added a self-adhesive scale for better measurements. The design fits the DWE7491RS table saw. Inspired by John Heisz.
Tips:
- Use hardwood for the runners. They will expand/shrink as much due to external conditions

@@AllFlavorWorkshop I like that it has no base. Sleds can be heavy but if you have a good saw top with a zero-clearance insert, there’s no reason to have a base for doing crosscuts - I guess you would for miters though.

Not sure I missed it, but do you have cut sheets for all the pieces of your jigs? These are amazing, great work.

Question:? you draw a line completely over the entire surface , and then you use a fence on the table saw to cut that piece of wood Why do you need that line ? isn't it just measuring the distance of the fence to the blade and saw it off ?

  • @AllFlavorWorkshop

Pretty much yes, you don't need the line per say. I use it to make sure I am really cutting where I want. When you're changing blades your fence is not entirely calibrated and there can be discrepencies

Very nice design! Is it possible to create this sled with standard pine planks instead of plywood? I have a lot of pine remains and plywood is available to me only in large expensi5ve boards. For the runners I have wallnut.

Hello :) Thank you. And I believe you can. Pine would not be as durable as plywood but it will work. Just make sure the planks are straight. 👍
