Slow Crawling with my Traxxas TRX-4 LC70 1/10 Scale Toyota LandCruiser VDJ79
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Traxxas TRX-4 with a KillerBody LC70 cab on custom mounts. Was originally the Land Rover Defender version. Body and tray unpainted. (Only inside the cab and under bonnet is painted flat black)
Stock front inner guards narrowed and bolted to shortened TRX-4 floors trimmed to suit the LC70 cab.
Full custom interior with Yeah Racing seats, Cab floor hides the shift servo and diff (T) lock servos.
ESC relocated behind grill. Access for switch via opening bonnet.
Battery connection access via passenger door. 2s 5000mAh LiPo Hard Case Battery behind seats. Access via hinged panel at cab rear. Flat Tray is hinged at the rear and held down with a spring loaded catch.
Stock Receiver box relocated between seats as centre console. Antenna relocated to the position provided on the receiver box.
Stock steering servo replaced because it's mandatory...
KillerBody ARB Bumper(Bull/Rat Bar) on custom mounts with supplied LightForce driving lights.
Custom solid steel side rails/rock sliders.
RC4WD 9.5 cti Warn Winch with wireless remote.
Rims and tyres are from a HSP RC4 Crawler and are 1.9” rims with 107mm OD tyres. Rims are plastic and have the hole drilled out to suit the stepped stub axle. Spacers required under wheel nut as the rim is little thin and the nut hits the stub axle shoulder before clamping on the rim.
Stock springs and shockers. Shock mounts for the rear upper are custom brackets.
Custom Flat Bed Tray with folding/removable sides and tail gate.
Wheel base is 313mm with the stock Defender rear links machined down in length by around 11mm.
Many other minor mods to come....

Love your truck! I was considering the LC70 body on a TRX4 kit too. Thanks for sharing.

Ormond Oxenham thanks very much! I believe there are mounts available now for the TRX-4 to LC70 from KillerBody. I made custom mounts as they weren't available when I built this. The flat bed tipper tray is fully custom as well and mounts seperate to the cab unlike the KB kits.

@@tippityplop477 Im sorry, but can you tell me please, which mounts i need to buy for kit version(313mm) for normal install (at the back)?

Никита Курочка Hi, all the mounts I used for this build are custom made as there was nothing available at the time. You can now get the mounting brackets from KillerBody to suit the TRX-4.
I always wondered how the lc70 would look on trx! Cool
Smart mounting
awesome looking truck. would love to see more of whats under the body

Mercury1600 thanks very much. Yeah I'll do a video soon of the thing in bits. The ESC and Receiver are relocated as you can kind of see in the clip. The two speed servo is in the stock position and the T lock servos are laying on their sides like the trans servo under a false floor I made. There's another video that shows some more details if you're interested. Link below if it works! kzread.info/dash/bejne/f32WvLOretizXbg.html

Very nice. Can i ask how do u fit the arb? What about the stock grey bumper thats supposed To hold the lights. Did u dremel off the lower part?

mr brightsidewill thanks! The ARB bar was fitted using custom brackets (nothing available at the time I made this) The stock bumper was removed entirely as the ARB bar from KillerBody comes with headlight buckets that replace the ones in the factory style bumper. The side rails are custom as well. Hope that helps?
What wheels and tyres are you using and how’d you get them to fit so nicely in the arches of the body? Nice build 👍

BC Blythe those are the stock 1.9" wheels and tyres from a HSP/RGT RC4 crawler, some of the cheapest around! Plastic rims unfortunately but they do fit well. I did reshape the rear section of the wheel well slightly for clearance. The rim offset is good and tyre diameter is slightly bigger than I'd like for scale but as you can see they look ok. Also had to drill the centre hole to a larger diameter to suit the step on the TRX-4 axles. I since stopped using them and have a couple of sets of off brand steel three piece rims. The offset on those isn't as nice but the weight and extra width help with stability. The rig is pretty heavy so the foams in the HSP wheels don't survive for long. I've made my own foam inserts for the steelies that stand up to my abuse. Some of the later videos show that set up. Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks for the help, possibly the best trx4 lc70 I’ve seen
Hey I really like the tray how did you fit it and do you have a link to the tray
Hey bro, I just would like to know what size tyres are in there and if you had to give it a lift. Thanks

Jett Productions g’day, the tyres are 1.9” and it’s not lifted. I actually tried to get it sitting as low as possible. The guards on the cab were modified slightly to get enough clearance on the sides closest to the doors. Just changed the angle of the rear section of the wheel wells.
How did you make your flares?
Get much regular scrub on front when flexing?

The Daily Commute no not really. I was very careful with the clearances when setting this up. The rear of the wheel wells have been trimmed back and stock flares were re shaped to suit so it’s not obvious. Also I run a smaller (1.9”) wheel size for a more scale appearance, the original TRX4 wheels are much too large for my liking with this body and would definitely scrub without a lot more body mods. I also trimmed some metal off the inside lip of the ARB bar to stop the wheels catching on it.
How did you make your rock sliders

Shaun Daniel-Cain Those were made using 5mm diameter steel rod. They were actually originally hanging hooks for plant pot bought from a hardware store. They were around 500mm long. Bent them to shape using a vice and hammer.
If i get the traxxes trx4 chassis kit will it work with the lc70 body? Im kinda new at this, what other parts do I need?

Regular Joe yes it will work with the TRX-4 chassis. If you order the LC70 kit from KillerBody be sure to get the body mount brackets to suit your chassis. When I made this the brackets weren’t available so there is a lot of custom work to get everything to fit. Good luck and have fun if you do the build.

Regular Joe I have done one that shows some stills of the setup but it might not go into enough detail. It’s difficult to show all the mounts without disassembly. Hopefully the video I’m linking will help if you haven’t already seen it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f32WvLOretizXbg.html
