    I’ve done shanks in the slow cooker for years! For me it’s a way better flavour without the tomatoes they just over power everything . I bake large sweet potato 200c for 2 hours than cut in half with butter and cinnamon sugar and some green beans!

    Absolutely delicious, l added sweet potato & followed the suggested format including using a tea towel to absorb the condensation. The meat was so incredibly tasty & it fell off the bone. I thoroughly enjoyed the commentary on the video & the helpful hints. A successful & new family favourite. 👍😀

    Yeah, I thought the flour was supposed to thicken the sauce, not a towel. Seemed dangerous to me when she said it. So sorry that happened to you! How awful!

    I find that when cooking potatoes, make the boiling water quite salty. That way, when mashed, they are seasoned perfectly. We love Yukon gold - served piping hot, no butter is really needed!

    You can leave out the flour, just coat the shanks with salt and pepper and brown them.

    Love lamb shanks meals. I like to mash my potatoes up with salt, black pepper, warm milk, butter and chopped green onions. Ok Lamb shanks it is for dinner tomorrow.

    Not bad I used red wine vinegar about a cup, the misso liked them but I didn’t like the vinegar taste apart from that yumo.

    Pmwalls46 I used red wine vinegar as a mistake lol. But yes still very tasty but like I said I wasn’t a huge fan on the vinegar taste.

    Nope. Me too. The problem with these ‘new age’ cooks is they think they have to ‘invent’ a new way of doing things which is really just the old way’. But these have been the old ways of our ancestors. So, take no notice, I know it i’s not original, but at least they are trying. So maybe, the past isn’t lost after all lol

    Tomato juice or..... I like to mix apple cider vinegar, honey mustard, rich BBQ sauce, whistler sauce & mint sauce all to taste test just fiddle around with measurements as you go

    Hi!! Thank you for the wonderful recipe. I marinated the lamb shanks for a few minutes with ginger garlic paste ,cumin powder, turmeric and hot red chilli powder to suit our Indian taste buds. The mashed potatoes went very well with the thick soup cum curry, Thank you for making the video so delectable.

    Graeme Pae alcohol free wine should work, or skip that step and a dash or extra stock if you need the liquid. Works for other dishes at least

    Cherylee Erasmus I would say a little extra stock. You can omit the wine... the result will just be a little different flavor but still delicious 😋

    As delicious as it seems, I would like it if you would state everything that you are actually putting into the pan just for an actual visual state in the process It would make it a bit more easier, besides having to go back and listen to what you put in there when you cut it or actually adding.

    You can reduce the sauce by transferring it to a pan and simmer it until the sauce thickens
