    And it literally took 1\100th the work shown in this video. In my hometown we go river lobster fishing with spears made out of car antennas, and a spear gun made of PVC pipe, elastic tubing and cotton rope\twine. Very similar to what this guy made but way easier and faster to make, resourcefulness is the name of the game.

    @@cloudvii7777 : The removable handle is a great idea, it could be a concealed carry slingshot, and the arrows could be made out of 12 inch bamboo skewers with homemade goose feather fletching or whatever bird's feathers you can find and dipped in snake venom for home security reasons.

    Beautiful forged chisels. Notice the twisted shankes. Also the spoke shave to do the radius...cut out by the fret saw. Nice little touches. Most people take short cuts because they can. Using the bobbins as someone else said was a great utilitarian idea. Keep up your creativity and aim.

    I thank you very much for sharing and I must say you show excellent craftsmanship. I am a single father who spends time with his son every other week and I try to come up with things him and I could do together in the garage. This project looks perfect as I believe I have a spare price of Mahogany, nuts, bolts, screws and tools to match. Do you have by chance instructions on how to build this? Or say dimensions or templates of some sort? I realize this is a simple contraption but as with many things I build I love to work off of drawings, instructions or schematics of some sort on paper. I guess it’s just how my brain works. Anyways again I appreciate you sharing this. Any help is greatly appreciated. 🙏✌🏽

I seriously doubt any of you armchair bob Vilas could pull this off. I do finish carpentry which is a craft in itself and I don't think I could manage this but would love to give it a go. A parts list would be awesomely helpful but otherwise my hat is seriously off to this guy. It's an incredible and functional diy project!!! Amazing keep up the good work

    Love the concept and design. A little confused on the tool usage though. Didn't he use tools for some work, then use different tools for steps that could have been better accomplished with the first tools? A good example being steps with bulk material removal that could have made use of his saw then finished with the precision tools.

    Simple quick tip for keeping chisels sharp: super flat and hard surface, slap some 600 grit sandpaper on it. Have some of the paper hanging off the side and trim. Press hard at first for a good burr, alternate sides to remove, pressing lighter and lighter throughout the process, and very lightly at the end of the sharpening. Just make sure you remove all the burr. Takes 1-20 minutes, as long as it's not in terrible shape, depending on how sharp it is when you touch it up.

    I wonder if using the rollers gives it more power like the cams on a compound bow? The more band you can pull the more power the sling shot has. I bet with bigger cams and a heavier duty band he could really crank up the speed of that arrow.

  • @rcfokker1630

    @rcfokker1630

    Жыл бұрын

    Pretty sure that there is a defined limit for the rate at which elastic contracts ... so, increasing the number of elastic bands may make only a minor difference to the speed of the projectile. What it WILL do is to allow you to shoot a heavier projectile.
