WERE these UK or CN made Celestions?

I got speakers for my fender bassman and when screwing in the new speakers my screwdriver slipped and punched a hole into the speaker which gave it a fuzzy tone. I think it only works with fender tweed small amplifiers with holes or slices in the speaker cone. The fenderbass man has certain frequencies that create intermodulations with the sliced or holes in the speaker cone I have found.

It's weird it's almost like the speaker once it's cut 4 times or 8 times it really adds more treble slight mid boost, the sound of the vintage 30 cut 8 times was amazing in the first half of the video, loved that tone

Crazy experiment, but I like it. I thought the sounds would be way more effected by this cuts. Very interesting video.

The arcing cut that may give you the fuzz/buzz... you didn't do😮 🤷 ( ) sand paper the edges of the cuts to age the material a bit ?🤷

Hi Waylon. I remember reading somewhere that Dave Davies of the Kinks used to stick knitting needles in his speaker cones to achieve distorted sounds. Couldn't tell you exactly how he put them in there but I can imagine them vibrating around making some interesting sounds. I was surprised that even after 8 cuts I couldn't really hear a difference. Thanks for the experiment.

I 😬 Cringed I so could use that speaker 🔊....oh well 😎 Great stuff... thanks 👍 I think you need to hit the speaker with knuckles to leave a piece of speaker material flapping...!!!!

The dirty tone of You Really Got Me by the Kings is achieved with a cut cone. (so the story goes)

Hi I like your videos, I can tell you know what you´re talking about (something that´s not so common nowadays) . Let me ask you how can I break in a new speaker without playing myself for days, don´t have the time. So I gess I can break It in by injecting a singnal to the amp with the new speaker attached , the question is what singnal can I use, (I have singnal generators, I can use pink noise for IE.) Can you give me an advice ? I will really apreciate your answer and It could be usefull for other subs to your channel. Thanks in advance! Cheers! . Sorry English is not my main language so there may be mistakes.

Thanks! Honestly the best way is to just play through it how you normally would with a guitar, but for the first couple of hours make sure the volume does not get too high. I have a friend who broke a speaker in by playing spotify through a SS power amp at low volume everyday for about 2 weeks. It worked pretty well😃

Hi. It would be better if you used a looper IMHO. Just an idea. This demo is good enough for me not to ruin a brand new speaker LOL. Congrats your videos are awesome. I like that one you made how to change the voicing of the pickups with caps (you turned a cheap Squier ceramic into a decent pickup) also like the one you made about trebble bleed circuits, very good content (again sorry my english is terrible)

I have never once heard anyone talk about getting fuzz by cutting a speaker. Would love to know where that one started at lol.

It hurts to watch with every slice. I think that you are going about the test way too scientific. If you want ripped speaker distortion, it probably needs to be several semi-random stabs into one general vicinity. I am way too poor to perform such an experiment. I have the Electro Harmonix Ripped Speaker pedal. It sounds awesome and shitty. It can do a standard fuzz or overdrive too.
