The waiting and wanting for that crescendo/riff that never comes is sweet agony.
no matter how many times i listen to this song i always anticipate a crescendo when i know there isnt one

This song makes me cry, like ugly cry, but once I listen to it, I have to listen to it again.

Miller
Kept waiting for the huge guitar explosion
This song feels like the axe is going to drop at any point, and it keeps edging and edging closer, and at the end it teases... and wanes off. Making me crave more. I played this song on repeat for a solid 20 minutes. I cannot wait for this album to come out. Godspeed, Sleigh Bells.

Yes! Totally agreed. A crescendo with no finale. But oddly it might be one of my favorite tracks on the album! I don't know how they do it. I love you Derek and Alexis!!!

Went to Weezer on 07/29/18 in Rogers, Arkansas ... saw this delightful band open for them. What a nice fresh surprise ..... reminds me of hints of Evanescence with some pop voice tinge. Such a unique ‘techno rock’ sound is the best way we could describe it. This was their last song they did - and it was chillingly good. Extremely great live presence and performance ... and I hope they know we appreciated it very much and keep their momentum rolling. Enjoyed them much more than the Pixies ... and will be following them in the future.
The "Kid Kruschev" album feels like a throwback to a late-80's/ early-90's that never existed. Like if the Cold War with Russia never ended and the Berlin wall never came down. So dark, cold, and synthetic; I can almost smell the monomers like a melancholy dust that lingers there but never goes anywhere. If you are looking for the intense wood chipper-like shredding or brick wall head banging beats this probably won't be your new jam. This is a decidedly slower feeling and much less anthemic Sleigh Bells.

I remember the smell of the local mall, that mix of food court and new clothes that made you electric with teenage angst, and made you think in nothing but the moment. No pressure beyond that day (and maybe the next day's assignment due) . The future was unknown, but bright nonetheless. No internet. No social media. No 24 hr news pumping terror porn into your brain non. fucking. stop. I miss it. I physically ache for that feeling. Life Fucking Sucks Now [X] money [X] comfortable lifestyle [X] family [ ] feeling that everything is going to be ok Why did we choose this way of life?

I LOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG!!!!! Had it on repeat for over half an hour. your guys are the best!!!!!!!
this song is addictive, I can´t stop listen to it and I did not even knew this band, just after listening the cover of where did you sleep last night, but this is ...... have no fuc,,,,,, words, good poem too.
Thank you for this. I cried in the front row of your show at Brooklyn Steel. I will never forget how Alexis stood in front of me "I swear, I'm the shell of a man" and I could only think of my late father and my imminent mother. She's a saint. I understand you, Derek. I love you especially. I love you both. Please be happy. I am so happy Alexis is having a baby - even if it means Sleigh Bells take a break. IT MEANS LIFE IS HAPPENING. GEAR UP AND STAND UP!
Easily the best _song_ I’ve heard in awhile.

This song really helped me after my mother passed away in 2019 ❤️ I didn't really get a lot of support or understanding from the people around me, but I feel like this song understands me.
Listening, I think about isolation and emotional stultification. Suffocation. While believing that dry unending thing is somehow alright. You must live with it. Cheer up. Stand up. Sorry. Everyday.
honestly, this was amazing
I love this. Been on repeat with the new exhumed and power trip.

Still on repeat....oddly enough still with Power Trip
This song lifts me up... But I also listen to it if I want to cry.
I've really but I've had a hard time connecting with Sleigh Bells since Reign of Terror but Kid Kruschev really does it for me! I hope so, so hard they continue on this path!
This reminds me of Jason's version of hell on the Good Place, "I'll probably go to a Skrillex concert, and I'll be waiting for the bass drop, and it...it'll never come!"
whoever they have been getting to direct their recent videos deserves some major praise. This and the one for "I Can Only Stare" are fucking fantastic! I absolutely love the camerawork and lighting in both videos, it's like something out of a John Carpenter movie. If I could ever hope for a horror musical that harkens back the early 80's era, Sleigh Bells and this director would be a perfect match EDIT: well, I'm blind, the credits are right in the description.

So haunting. Beautiful!

I never read the lyrics before. Reading it now. Obviously about Derek being away from his hometown in Florida and family with father passing. "Where you from? Way down south? How far down? Ocala? Got into this band because of this song, and have since realized that I knew and loved many of their songs from various places. However, I'm a bit disappointed to find that this is the only song that's remotely like it in their repertoire. Hoping that they make more music like this.

The band has a lot of music that's all over the place, full of imagery and symbolism to what the members were feeling when it was written. With that in mind, it really isn't surprising that this is the only song they've produced with this type of feel to it, as that isn't an emotional place people ever truly come out of, nor an experience of loss they ever truly have more than once.
