Sleeper Train from Tangier to Marrakech, Morocco 🇲🇦: FionnOnTheRoad Episode 16
In this episode of FionnOnTheRoad I take the long, arduous and surprisingly not TOO uncomfortable sleeper train from Tangier straight to Marrakesh! My plan for this leg of the trip was to make the long journey to Morocco’s touristic capital (yes I know not the official capital), where I would use the city as a hub to explore other destinations in the surrounding area.
If you’ve ever wondered what taking the ONCF night train was like, whether or not sleep was even a possiblility on a train ride like this, or just like to see me suffer a bit then this is the video for you as I show the no frills way to travel across this country. This video is a short one, but I’ve got plenty of stuff in the pipeline for the days ahead with stops in Essaouira, Fes, Chefchaouen, and even conquering Morocco’s mighty Djebel Toubkal. So stick around as I explore more of this beautiful country :)

Tangier and Marrakech train stations are gorgeous and much better than the ones we have here in Canada!The trains, especially the new TGV (borak), are also better than Via Rail's.... Enjoy your trip!
You should have taken the TGV high-speed train from Tangier to Rabat or casablanca, spent the day there and then left for Marrakech! Enjoy Bro

You didn't get over charged for the taxi, keep in mind whenever you gonna take the big taxi alone you'll have to pay for all the empty seats because they work by seat, if you're taking it alone you'll pay for all the other 5 empty seats, always talk about it or ask locals they will provide some infos on how to do things without having to pay extra
@fotr

@ridabrahim7604

@@fotr big taxis that works from a city to another take long roads that's why they charge a lot so it's better to go to taxis stations, when you go to taxis stations they wait until they fill all the 6 places then they go, ask locals how much it costs then catch a place, small taxis work with the counter, whenever you get in one tell him to run the counter so they don't overcharge you especially in Marrakech, I'm moroccan and they overcharged me in that city multiple times, good trip nice content and good luck
As they see that you are from outside, they raise the prices of food and if you want to buy something, so you have to haggle although it is difficult to negotiate food prices

I’m travelling the world for a year, I’m not a rich guy or anything and certainly wouldn’t be able to travel for so long if I used limousine services or stayed in 5 star hotels. Besides, I like to see countries how they’re meant to be seen, how locals perceive and experience their own country etc. and I’ve had a lot of amazing “wow” experiences even when keeping my spending to a minimum. I convert the currency as a way to keep track myself on how much money I’m spending, and so anyone watching from abroad can have a good idea of what my costs have been
In which world you expect to pay 15DH (1.5$) from the airport to your destination? I’m astonished of how some tourists are expecting everything to be cheap !

I'm not so sure that the compliments about your shoes, t-shirt etc. were actually meant as compliments! I just got back from my seventh visit to Morocco, and in Essaouira was "complimented" numerous times on the pendant I wear around my neck, and the ring I bought in Cappadocia many years ago. But the compliments were just ploys to get me to go and look at "similar" jewellery the person was trying to sell! Incidentally, the pushiness of shopkeepers in Essaouira has really ramped up since the pandemic. You used to be able to walk around the town completely undisturbed by anyone trying to sell you anything, but not any more!
