My review and interpretation: The most emotionally charged song in the album after Blood Sport but unfortunately mostly skipped by people because this track demands the listener to be on a certain state of mind. Being catchy is not in the manifesto of this song. Come to visit this song later and on one day you will resonate with this song and on that day Vessel will take you down to dance with his every emotions and in that, will carve a beautiful spot in your soul forever. Lyrics of this song feels poetic with several layers but not too much that the song will feel too abstract for the listener to resonate. The character in the song raises heavy questions to the beloved on verses. The song exposes the utter depth in which he has fallen in the love of the beloved. "Just take aim, break me apart." is his utter surrender to his beloved's affection. "And you make me hate myself, Make me tear my body, Make me ache for your embrace. So take aim at me for once, Just take aim, break me apart love." Deeper than Mariana Trench but at the same time close enough to the surface so that we humans can experience this. What a beautiful contradiction. "You know I’ll be yours, When the moment is perfect. " He is pleading to wait for the stars to align for their union. "You know I’ll be yours, Just want to be worth it." He wants to be worthy of her love contrary to contemporary lovers. This conscience of him is what makes his cry special. He is teaching the listener on how to love by putting his vulnerability on display for the listener. "I will run like the wind till you follow me again. " The final line will drop the hammer on your heart with full force but followed with the light from the starry constellation that will shine on your soul rejuvenating it with what is one of the most precious feeling in this world, Hope. I rediscovered this song now, after I fell in love and yes, it's completely new level of emotions, wholy different experience, I'm so obsessd with it now and can't stop singing these lines. And you're right, Take Aim (just like many "skippable" songs on that album but for me there is no single weak or even average song) is not just ordiiary "banger", "cool" etc. stuff, you need to be in certain mental condition, emotional state to feel it.

I think I hear the second line of the second verse as “like a cursed whisper”, which makes sense to me along with the next line, but I could be wrong.

The vocal dynamics of this guy throughout all of this group's catalog is fucking unbelievable....astounding

reminiscent of a Metal Bon Iver... love it. And all the rest of course. Such dynamic vocals. And hail the drummer. Worship.

I plan to edit this song and use it as our wedding song this year. I was worried it was too sad but I'm going to edit out certain parts. I've felt the worst of relationships, where they've started incredible and then ripped you apart. This one has healed me in so many ways and I'm so lucky to be marrying them

Sleep Token. You know that when one of their songs sounds like it's happy, the lyrics are about to hit you like a damn freight train hauling a nuclear bomb.

oh, the graceful vocals of Vessel are truly staggering in this one. So unique, I'm blown away, I'm always looking forward to every other Thursday. Worship.

Love showing this to people and watching their reaction as it comes right after the heaviest breakdown on the album (the end of “Higher”)

For me the genre Sleep Token make should be called "Art Metal"

most underrated band atm

I stumbled upon one of Sleep Token's songs (Alkaline) for the first time on Friday 3/22/24. I was instantly hooked and had to hear more. Next, at random it was Granite, truly an amazing masterpiece. Then there was Chokehold, Bloodsport, Distraction, and the list goes on. I cannot get enough! I have officially gone down the 🐇 hole and am loving every minute of it. Every song is amazing, and the level of emotion this man conveys in his lyrical undress is so vulnerable and beautifully broken. I pray he has found someone to make him feel whole and as amazing and strong as all of the fans see and feel he is, and the entire band. Fan for life.

I lost my childhood friend a month after this amazing song was realised it was played for his farewell it hurts to know he never got to see how much love this band has now ❤

There is just something about this song that scratches my brain in a good way

at this point Vessel’s singing has become my spiritual experience 🧘🏻‍♀️

This song really moves me , when you feel really down it’s hard to find that right song that you can really connect with musically and this is song has been it for me like no other current song, I appreciate this.

I hope Vessel and the rest of the band understand just how special they are. There is no other band that can do what sleep token does.

This song's sound feels kind of like a homage to Vessel's old band. I won't say what it is to maintain his anonymity, but I will say that it's like a 10 minute google search and it's not that difficult to find out for yourself.

The songwriter sees their person of interest dancing through Creation and wants to join. Wants them to themselves. Both parties know they’ll end up together but question if they are worth all this. When is the perfect moment to break it all apart and be together? The songwriter sets their sights on the road ahead in hopes this person will follow them again, as they once did. For if they both fire at each other at the same time and break, maybe they’ll be something new. Together. *Just a creative response/interpretation to their song.

There's a lot of just answered questions with Sleep Token. They claim to follow a deity known as "Sleep", etc. I like to think the mysterious aspects of Sleep Token is just a tool they utilize to add to their atmosphere as a band. Or they could really worship a deity named Sleep and are some super secret goons for the deity lol.. who knows really
