I knew that Belle would love this one. It's a baby maker. You'll also notice as you go that ST like to crescendo their sound into that wall of sound you mentioned to the end of most of their songs to give that epic release to balance the build up.

Great reaction. The way I view this song is that it's about being addicted to something, for instance a toxic relationship, that, on the surface, appears good but is, in fact, harmful, eg, sugar itself! When you get to the final track called Bloodsport, it might be an idea to react to both the album version and the version from The Room Below (which has an actual video!), as they are very different to each other, but both still hit the feels, just in different ways! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

I have been so excited to get to this song. It’s so clever how they used such a simple structure and created such a popular song in the ST community and it’s something that is so off putting. Like what kind of crazy music is this? The Lore as I see it is this is a Lullaby to begin with. Gods left Vessel distraught and angry and ready to go on the warpath but Sleep responds with honey dripping from her lips and essentially the only language Vessel will listen to. “You play a twisted little game but I know in a way you need to complicate.” Sleep is explaining that he is overreacting to the whole thing. Gaslighting 101, there’s nothing wrong here Vessel, it’s all in your head, this is just the way you are. She cranks the horniness of the relationship to 11 and Vessel thinks the outburst from Gods has finally put her in her place and she is getting with the program for once. Sleep is toying with the man. “My arms keep you in the room, barely let you move. Show me what you do. Tonight we’re second guessed again let me wrap the chains addicted to the pain.” There is nothing in Sleep that wants Vessel to leave. Because she needs him to survive. And that doubt Vessel has now needs to be quashed outright. Then Vessel leans into the deception “Do you wanna see how far it goes? Do you wanna test me now my love? You must be crazy if you think that I would give in so easy. Things we buried low are coming to the surface now my love, you must be crazy if you think that I would give up the game.” He thinks he has broken through to her. Things she has concealed are coming out of her like never before and he is eating it up and feels vindicated. Sleep is okay with him thinking that because it keeps him in place. Worship.

This song just exudes sexy. The groove, the vibe, the lyrics, everything. And the third “SUGAAAAAAAH” after the drop is so good. That being said, check out live versions of it. The way Vessel interacts with III will make you…..feel…..things.

Great critique guys! Glad you both enjoyed it. Agreed Belle, although I've heard all of their songs up to now and I'm fairly confident you won't react with a 'meh' to any of the remainder as Vessel and II physically cannot make a bad song IMO. However, there's one song to come that I wasn't a big fan of which evokes Imogen Heap's 'Hide & Seek' autotune vibe, but since hearing clean vocals in a staggeringly good live recording on here, has now grown on me and allowed me to listen to it in a different light. Look out for 'Fall For Me' in the future...

In the early days live he used to play guitar and sing but not so much now as IV handles it so he can concentrate on belting out that velvet falsetto and his infamous 'goblin dancing'! Are you going to the Manchester show (it's a Tuesday I think)?@@RealLifeCoupleReact

I want to get into Sleep Token and admire what they do but it's just never quite clicked for me tbh. I don't dislike anything I've heard from them but they've never grabbed me. Just FYI, B-M and The Warning have announced a double concert in Tokyo this June. Going to be ❤‍🔥

Thank you for the link. I will definitely check it out, and like I said, I can definitely see why they're gaining a following and acclaim. Live might very well be the trick tbh as that's where I find any band I like hits and I haven't heard anything live from them. If they can't do it live, and I've no doubt ST can, then I don't really bother with a band in general. lol, that sounds really harsh but it is what it is.@@Missy-vj5cz

Maybe I'm just not a fan of the effects they use on the recordings or something? Either way, much obliged for the links and will definitely check out some more ST to see if they grow on me further.
