Courtney LaPlante, and her husband, guitarist Mike Stringer, formed the band in 2017, in Victoria BC, Canada, after leaving their former band, Iwrestledabearonce. Zev Rose on drums since 2020. Josh Gilbert (ex As I Lay Dying) joined , on bass, as a touring member in 2022, made permanent in 2023. Multi genre band, including metalcore, alt metal, prog metal, and Djent. Courtney's screams are awesome. Most songs are a mix of clean and harsh, though some are all clean, and a few all harsh. 1 full album, and 4 EP's to date. Glad you guys enjoyed this. Mike and Courtney have been married since their stint playing in Iwrestledabearonce, before quitting and taking a bit of time off from music to figure out their next plan in the indistry. They started the band while living in Victoria, BC, Canada, they’re now living in LA. The band has had a few other people in and out the door, but currently features Josh on bass (previusly played in As I Lay Dying), and Zev on drums. Anything specific you wanna know, just ask. I’ve been friends with Mike, who plays guitar on the band, but also writes and records all the instrumentation.

Spiritbox is awesome especially Courtney. You made the right choice doing the vocal one take version.

Hello guys ! Been watching and loving your journey through sleep token and funnily enough I’ve been thinking you guys should move onto Spiritbox next so here goes with my list of recommendations ! Can’t wait to see them !- BLESSED BE ( an absolute must ) , RULE OF NINES, HOLY ROLLER ( just to see how heavy they can fucking go ) SUN KILLER, YELLOWJACKET, CONSTANCE ( very sad, you’ve been warned ), HURT YOU, THE VOID, CELLAR DOOR ( again heavy as f*ck ), JADED. There we go ! In all honesty they’re worth checking out, especially the ‘ETERNAL BLUE’ album and also the MARA EFFECT LIVE 👍🏼 enjoy guys !

Oh and big news- the Warning will come to Japan and split the bill with Band Maid in June. Wish I could afford to fly to Japan.

FYI, Band Maid just dropped Endless Story from the Yokohama show. Subtitles on and a box of tissues. It's the final song of the show!🙏✌️

Now you have liked this, if you haven’t already, please take a look at Arch Enemy with their song and official video of Handshake With Hell, and be stunned at Alissa’s vocals too, you will definitely enjoy 🤘

Check out The Mara Effect live at Silverside sound from them at some point. It is a long song (in 3 parts) but performance is worth it. Different from this pure metalcore synthy style, more proggressive.

Courtney is a monster vocalist. Your hitting up a lot of my female vocalists. Taiti from Jinjer, Floor from Nightwish - but there are so many still to come. Simone from Epica would be a good one. Epica fans are going to hate me for this recommendation as there are better Epica songs - but it is a great intro from Nightwish as Floor is a guest vocalist one this track. And Floor and Simone on the same stage is a serious cheat code. Also I heard you mention Opeth... I like her clean vocals, harsh, not as much. The band is originally from from Victoria British Columbia. Not many harsh vocalist I like. If you're into that than recommend - Arch Enemy - The Eagle Flies Alone (Music Video)
