I would say Death Metal but I'm just more of a fan of the band Death but they're definitely unique compared to majority of Death Metal bands and another one BoltThrower they're badass!! But there's not too many bands that have not one bad album like Death their entire discography is solid

Having seen all 3 bands in the early/mid 80's, I must say.... Metal has NEVER been the same. Look how hungry Slayer was.... Pure Evil!

I believe this is perhaps the most important single extreme metal tour/performance in metal and rock history

This is easily one of the greatest if not the greatest live metal concert videos ever. Not just the bands and their energy, but the crowds. I go to a lot of metal shows but it’s rare to see anything like this these days. Makes me nostalgic for something I was never even around for lol

I love how Slayer gave props to a bunch of HC Punk bands. No real speed metal would have happened without HC.

late 70's /early 80's i was big into punk in the L.A. area and to say that era was "special" is a gross understatement. after getting out of teen rehab around 85' or so even though i didn't know it at the time i was desparate for something new musically but also something to fill in the gaps of my drug habit. this non hair band metal was nothing new but at the time it was new to me. as i said i was newly sober and no longer partaking of any substances not even caffeine or tobacco (the only ones still sanctioned by 12 step groups unless you include junk food) i was absoltely out of my gord depressed and miserable and bands like these 3 (yep seen em' all) are most of the reason i didn;t hang myself. i was going to at least3 gigs amonth and in addition to being an insanely good time it really gave me something to look forward to.

Saw this lineup tour at the Hollywood Palladium 1985, great show

Where has this been all my life I have never seen this piece of fine metal video

I saw this tour when I was 20ish at the Fort Hesterly Armory in Tampa. I believe the 3 bands where rotating headliner on the tour. I enjoyed Exodus and Venom but even way back at their beginnings I could see Slayer was something special. As we all know they would become the Beatles, Zeppelin, Beethoven, Bach, Cannibal Corpse, James Brown, etc. of Thrash Metal. The best ever in their genre of music!

I just wonder how many lifes this show has changed. i saw it for the first time in 2006 when i was 13 years old and flipped my whole world upside down, Thrash metal has been my life ever since.

This tour is the entire reason I was able to break free of numetal in the early 2000's. I grew up with real metal and lost my love for it till those days when I could compare it to contemporary music.

Before I stumbled upon my first Slayer cassete, Show no Mercy, I was listening to Scorpions and Motley Crue. I grew up in a devout Catholic family and then a Pentacostal mom and step dad. I hated it. I wasn't allowed to listen to anything Metal until I was around 16. This is when I saw this vid on VCR and couldn't believe my ears. Thrash Metal touched my soul. Burned into me. What I mean by evil is that the church and rural Southwestern New Mexico swore my So Cal born and raised taste in music was frowned upon. The more evil the sound, the look, the message, the better. Tom Araya looks and sounds like evil incarnate, but he's actually a devout Catholic. Exodus wrote songs about everything from torture to politics. Venom sung about Black, Dark, Demonic forces. Compared to some of today's music these guys were pretty tame. I quickly went from wanting to piss off my parents to falling in love with music. Songs about Satan to songs about Televangelists and even songs that are about stories from the bible, "Evil" in a good good way. They arent hair metal even though Kerry had hair once. Lol! That's what I meant. Lol! No offense.
