Would they all have been home runs without the juice?
I remember I was a 9 year old kid back in 98 and I thought Sammy Sosa was the coolest guy ever. Now I have my own kid and I never mention Sosa to him.
Him and Kerry Wood made me a Cubs fan in 1998. I was only 8 going on 9 that year. Just a special year of sports in my heart. I’ll never forget, and I will always cherish it. Never knew I’d like baseball cuz I was an NBA guy only. Sosa saved baseball. What a historical year.
My favorite player growing up! Watching the games on wgn on the west coast, great time in baseball

Sammy was my favorite Cubs players years before he took roids. A lot of people forget that he was one of the games best sluggers prior to the '98 season. The swing, the hop, it was all so exciting.

Single handedly made the worst chicago team the most entertaining to watch. I can remember losing a game 11-1 to the rockies and Sammy hit a solo HR in the 9th. You would have thought we won the world series the way Wrigley erupted lol.

Maybe Chicago loved Sosa but the Cubs really hate him and did everything they can to make everybody forget him and never recognize his achievements..While the Giants celebrate every achivement and all the records that Barry Bonds set and retired the number Barry Bonds use as a player, the cubs never retired the number Sammy use as a Cub player...
He was attitude era The ROCK of MLB and he was the most electrifying player the sport has ever seen. MLB is a joke now because they ban guys but profit off them still. He did wrong and has paid for it over an over but for a poor kid from Arkansas this man was a icon. Never seen anyone move a crowd like that and the energy he produced was amazing. Thank you Slammin SAMMY SOSA.

Bonds was better! But my god, what a time to be a baseball fan! Every at bat was like a circus in St. Louis, Chicago and San Francisco!
.I used to work at Wrigley and I walked out after a game as I was probably 16 years old me and my buddy Carl and yelled Sammy he was already in his car pulling out of the parking lot he backed up and signed a ball for me Sammy Sosa 30/30. And I'm a Sox fan but I always love Sammy Sosa great guy. And yes he did start with the White Sox but just a really great guy the character for him to stop his car back up and sign my baseball was very nice.

Still love Slammin Sammy! I don’t care if he took roids…because those years were the most exciting years I have ever seen in MLB👏🏽
Sammy was a good player. You could always count on him knocking them out into the street a few times during the game. when you him hit the ball, and do that one "hop" towards 1st base, you know that ball was gone. I also miss how Wrigley looked back then. Not like a circus like it does now.
Sosa owned right field . When you see the hop it’s out the park!
Love seeing the bare brick wall backdrop at Wrigley sans advertising. The good ole days.

I've seen a lot of baseball. I've never seen any hitter more locked in over a season than Sammy was in 1998. He was a terror.

As Steve Stone said, Sammy still had to hit the baseball. There have been many strong guys in MLB and they hit a few major bombs, but they couldn't do it consistently. Sammy also stole a lot of bases and hit for a good average in some years. Hitters cheated and pitchers cheated and as one person pointed out, there are guys from other eras who some claimed were cheaters in the HOF.
