Received my Kickstarter deluxe version this weekend and there is a Rodney video, thanks Roxley for a great looking game and supporting Rodney's great content! Been looking forward to this game for a couple years as it is built upon the mechanics of the go first dice mathematics!

This looks like such a great game with so many strategic decisions. Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a big fan of Brass Birmingham, so I don't doubt Gavan Brown. I've pre-ordered it and can't wait to get it on the table!

I like the theme. What was the theme with the og Metropolys? I'm thinking if the inclusion of Fritz Lang is a call back to that version of the game, or simply because Fritz Lang naturally looks like he's a steampunk character.

If someone doesn’t mind, can you explain if it’s better to have low or high initiative? As far as I understand, low initiative means you go first in the first Era 2 auction, and if someone else has no more buildings left - but is going first generally advantageous, or no? If you win an auction, you also must go first in the next one, which I would assume to be a balancing mechanic - to make sure players who win bids don’t keep the advantage. So maybe it’s not advantageous to go first in Era 2 auctions, when it’s forced by initiative? Am I on base with my thinking, or way off? lol Thanks!

I think it's somewhat situational (and likely becomes more obvious when playing). For example, going first allows you to determine what value the bid starts at AND where the auction is going to start on the board. on the other hand, if on a given turn you're more interested in winning a space that you can go into later on in the auction, you might prefer going later. I think "in general", going first does give you more control.

Is that a +10 on the right side of the player board? I may have missed it but what is that for?

When a row is full and you gain another of that token, it is worth 10 points at the end of the game, you’ll find that explained during the scoring section of the video.

Nothing that most people would notice. I misspoke about some pieces being adjacent, but the rule was taught correctly. I just wanted to update the video so the example is consistent with the correct rules.
