Almost 2 years since this song came out and reading through recent comments has made me contemplate - Skyrim has an incredible ability to transcend being just a game and bring a massive community of fans together. Its tales, lore and gorgeous world speak to people on a very deep, passionate level and bring people from every walk of life together to celebrate it in so many different ways. I'm so glad I get to celebrate it through my music and by doing so not only please you guys but also meet & work with Malu, who is wonderful, kind and talented. Big love to all the Elder Scrolls fanatics

whyuhatan Good for you! I can never just leave it for too long... I always come back. It's a beautifully crafted game, even with it's glitches and flaws! Such a complete world is hard to accomplish in games.

Bethesda should make these two as in-game bards in the taverns.... and put them to voice act their own characters of course.

lol never opened the disk since i first installed it as i dont need it as the map is on the wall beside my screen and has every map marker in the game on it with a full added legend for them aswell as the markers for all the modded places i use even had to add an entire new map of other areas around the skyrim one to cover them all lol but i never get lost

This masterpiece is 10 years old, I can't-

Skyrim turns 10 in 3 hours and im listening to this on repeat until 12:00am

I felt really happy when Malukah held up the "Thank you gavin" and was smiling and you can hear the happiness in her singing which makes the song all the more special.

This song is just so nostalgic. Just days after this was uploaded on youtube i already had this and all of malukah's songs on a playlist, making it my lullaby every night. After many years i just happen to stumble on this song again in my recommendations. It reminds me of my 21 year old self having everything in life. I remember waking up just to play skyrim religiously, having a circle of friends that i used to hang out with, a girl that i thought was going to be with for the rest of my life. Now at 26 i'm jobless, the girl i still love is already engaged with somebody else, my mother got an incurable degenerative brain disease and depression is creeping up on me. I haven't played skyrim for almost 2 years now but listening to this song is like a time capsule, taking me back to those days that i once was happy. I really wish i could turn back time and play skyrim without worries like i used to, but i know it's impossible, but at least i still have this song. Thank you Gavin and Mallukah, please continue to inspire more people :) Edit: It's now the 22nd of january 2020, i'm now 28. I re-installed skyrim to escape reality, since it's the only thing that keeps me forget about my current state. It might sound creepy, but i stalked my ex's facebook and saw she's already pregnant. It has also been a year since mother died. My friends already have a family of their own while i'm here stuck being alone. I might give life a couple of month or more finding its meaning before i end it..

deathangel538 Actually, you can level up indefinitely by making skills "legendary," which can be repeated ad infinitum. There is no level cap in Skyrim anymore.

The first time I heard the chorus chills went up my spine. I think that's very fitting for the song.

That is called "fernweh" and just means exactly what your last sentence states. It's a german word and is something felt by many people everywhere.

My favorite thing about this song is that your voice and Malukah's voice harmonize very well together, and they accentuate the other very well.

Hyuuga Narkuzoku During the Great War Ulfric Stormcloack was an imperial officer under the command of young Legate Tullius and General Jonna, he was captured during the Siege of the Imperial City by Aldmeri army. Ulfric was tortured by them and after realesed under suspicious circumstances... In TES 5: Skyrim when the dragonborn goes inside the Thalmor Embassy he discovers a Dossier (inside a chest) about Ulfric's war actions and military informations, so he could probably be a Thalmor spy or just a puppet of the Aldmeri Dominion that with the excuse to fight for Talos only brings chaos in the province of Skyrim. The Empire is not really an ally of the Thalmor because there is much hatred in their armies and political affairs. Also is not entirely true that the Empire abbandoned Talos, the worship of him is still present among the soldiers and the officers (Rikke for example...), also Tullius wants to kill the Thalmor so imperial soldiers still believe in Talos but they have to hide it mostly because they are not yet ready to start another war against the aldmeri dominion, if they can win the Civil War of Skyrim probably the Legion will grow in number and strength and I really hope they will defeat those Thalmor idiots with the help of the Dragonborn that should become the new Emperor

Yeah, I started playing it in 2011 when it came out, it's still my favourite game 8 years later. :) It's such an amazing, detailed world you can immerse yourself in and forget you're actually just a mortal human from Earth for a while, and there's just so many things to do. :) Even more if you add some good mods. :)

Here in 2020 still who thinks they should do a remake of this ?

My two favorite singers came together and sung a song about the game that I play constantly (It has taken over my life.) Bethesda is trying to keep me trapped in it's fantastic gaming world forever.

i love both your talents on here and seeing it done together just excites me!

one of the best songs i ever heared. i love how it plays together with the voices, how the very high piano parts just fit in, and i always love it when you do the middleagy sounding stuff like with skyrim and the witcher.
