Skyblock is technically pay to win becuase you could buy gems from the hypixel shop and buy a booster cookie and sell it to the bazaar for 2 mil so I would consider it to be pay to win

I feel like you didn't show the negative consequences of the gems update beyond the exchange rate discrepancy- they exist. I stopped playing after it essentially became pay to win, and I feel like there must be other people who had similar feelings- I liked how it was a game where the work you put in translated into the benefit, and this element has ruined it for me. I understand this video is about IRL trading, but if someone only knew about the update through the video then they wouldn't realize that it had that effect on some people.

I mostly only watch Hypixel News for stuff IK about the server, so my opinion might not matter &/or be completely wrong. But here it is I guess I think the main issue is that the updates I've seen only raised the max potential of a player, which only enlarged the gap between pro players & newer players. I think instead of trying to give players incentive to just spend the money legitimately, they should try to get rid of the main reason people actually IRL trade, which is the grindiness of the game to a newer player. One idea I have is that they make a separate auction-house (or whatever) which has stuff at lower prices (and maybe there can be certain stats or something that can decide whether or not you'll actually be allowed in this simpler auction house), so that there can be places where specifically newer players can attain items more easily, rather than just hoping no one bids on the item they want or something Additional EDIT: And since the changing account system could cause issues for alt shops, people would be forced to buy a completely new account just to try & exploit it
