As a former Mineplex player I can say that the server is no longer what it used to be. The server gets poor updates and the staff make lots of controversial decisions and frequently leave the server. It no longer gets nearly as much coverage from KZread and is an overall different community. I hope the best for the server but all I can say is, Rest In peace Mineplex.

I still have nostalgic fun when I find a mixed arcade gang going from time to time. They brought castle seige back as a seasonal event and it's also been pretty cool.

I agree. I haven't played games like Dragon Escape, Turf Wars, or Sheep Quest in a really long time. Those were my favorites when I was new, back in 2015. Now I feel like those games aren't even worth playing, for one thing Sheep Quest doesn't even start and there is only ever 3 servers open of turfwars and all of them have parties of edater sweats on them. Dragon escape is still ok, I guess.

I remember playing on Mineplex a lot. I had legend rank and was level 52 in addition to owning every kit in the game and overflowing with gems. My favorite gamemode was definitely Super Smash Mobs, but what ultimately ruined the experience for me and made me stop playing on Mineplex was the overwhelming amount of hackers and later it’s low popularity.

When Mineplex changed their lobby back to the original and made a crappy queue where you can't ever get in a game, it was done for.

Yep that sounds about right; that was what made me stop playing too. I remember one time I got excited - a new Mineplex update was out. I thought Mineplex was good enough as it was, and didn't really need any upgrades, but I looked forward to it nevertheless. But then I tried to play a game and at the time I thought I was having internet issues: I couldn't join. Tried later that day, the next day, then the next week - and it still didn't work. I gave up and have since not really ever played on the server, as my friends also had stopped playing on Mineplex, and had instead moved over to Hypixel, which was (and is) still fun to play on.

Well I mean, I like the old lobby. It was what they had until I left in late 2015. When I came back 2 years later, I was sad to see that it was different and it didn't feel like the same old server anymore. However, I agree that the game queue is so stupid. Like it sucks how I can't pick out a server on my own anymore and I'm pretty sure that it doesn't always send me to the game when it's supposed to.

I really wish other popular servers would make their own versions of block hunt, block hunt was one of the most fun games ever but it's no fun anymore because the maps are getting old, hackers are running amok, and the player count dwindles. Hypixel has two "hide and seek" minigames but they just don't feel the same.

i remember block hunt was one of the first people to ever get the special kit (slime kit) ever i loved the game I just play farm hunt on hypixel now tho.

i will never forget how much nostalgia i got from this server i spent hours on this server, i had the pro rank and everyday after school we would just grind on mineplex. Our favorites were Turf war, Super smash mobs, Evolution, Christmas Chaos, Snake, Dragon escape and the best was Micro battles. when i got back into minecraft i only saw 900 players on this server and i was so shocked. I will never forget how much fun i had on this server, Thank you.

@@reloadtoad in micro battles, there are three classes or kits, warrior the one with a sword and five apples, worker the one with a pick axe and shovel and sword and three apples, and archer the one sword and bow (arrows spawn every so often) and three apples, I play micro battles on bedrock.

I just logged on for the first time in probably 6 years. My lobby had 0 players.

I remember around 6 years ago me and an old friend would play on mineplex almost everyday after school. I have now fallen out of touch with this friend but I still have some really good memories from there. I will give one example. When I first joined the server I didn’t have things like discord so at school he gave me th ip I joined and we spent the afternoon just of him teaching me how to friend him and party. We played one game of turf wars and I had to go.

I remember the small moments in my life. Days as a kid where I'd sit in my mom's office, sitting atop her chair as she went out to eat some lunch. My brother's minecraft account would be on, him leaving me to play while he went to attend his voice lessons. I'd sit there excitedly, waiting for my player to join the random minigame server my brother would let me play on, my hands ready on the keys and mouse before finally entering. I'd play on The Hive, ruining my brother's color dance streak. Playing on Hypixel and Mineplex, other servers and more. It's been years since then, not at all that long but to this day I still play minecraft. Even through the dark ages, I played. Be it vanilla or modded. Single player or Multiplayer. My brother gave me his account a few years back, allowing me to change the username and all. Sometimes, I'd go on his old friend lists. Seeing players I've never met before but know of from watching my brother play before. I'd see their usernames, and with them displaying; “Active 1305 days ago”.

Me too. I remember when a friend showed me Minecraft. We used to play a fake together everytimd he visited me. We often build stuff together.Then U got Minecraft. I still remember our favourite world. It was a superflat world with flying platforms and paths made out of diamonds and other ore blocks. He build stuff like melon houses. We build spawners and fan fron the mobs. It was fun. After I got a PC I got an account. Were not having much contact anymore.

Me too. I used to play mineplex a lot during the minecraft dark ages. Surprisingly, back then In my time zone that would be about 4000 players on average but now there’s usually less then 1000, meaning mineplex was actually more popular during the minecraft dark ages?6

Nothing is more nostalgic than trying to find a lobby that wasn't full so all my friends could be in the same place. Also the extreme lag from playing the Christmas minigame back when it was first released. That was the shit. I'll never forget the parkour snake segment that everyone usually lost on, and the feeling when I finally beat the Pumpkin King for the first time after hours of playing

I really missed some of the minigames that mineplex removed, which pretty much killed my interest for the server. Probably my favourite minigame on the server was wizards, which let you be really creative with your strategies to win. But now that mineplex removed the minigame, and no other servers have a minigame similar to it, it's only a distant memory at this point.

13:41 This KZreadr had such an impact on my time on minecraft in my younger days (2013-2017) I first met him when he was doing a mineplex stream party and I joined it, I had so much fun during it and even went on to follow his channel a lot, I kept on joining his stream parties and even changed my name to rustydoget (his is rustydawgt) In his biggest stream party ever I won a survival games and I immediately went to his stream to check for his reaction but he wasn’t looking and doing something else, younger me was so bummed about this, we became friends too. He had this meme called swammies which were clownfish that he pretended were drugs, and then suddenly he had to stop KZread due to real life stuff, myself for one was sad at this but young me only just understood why he had to stop. He impacted my minecraft experience a lot. I was thinking about mineplex before the 13:41 section and it reminded me of him and then that 13:41 part appears and it’s just rather surprising and convenient! (I guess you could call it a “Rise and Fall friendship”) also I was a mod for a very short period of time on that server and my expectations were very high and the reality was that it was nowhere near as nice as expected

Man I remember the hype when titan was released. I remember the old Halloween events and bridges games that would last hours. I remember playing castle siege all night long. That was always my favorite game. I remember struggling to connect sometimes because the server had 40k people online. Nothing will beat trash talking people in slime soccer or playing koth in the lobby. I remember being able to use tnt to exploit the parkour challenges. I remember how prestigious mythical chests used to be. Now all I have left are my old cosmetics I never use and pages of inactive players on my friends list. I still play occasionally. I stopped playing regularly a few months after cake wars dropped. I still love mineplex, I spent so much time on that server in junior high. I’ll always cherish my memories in mineplex.

SUPER glad someone mentioned Minekart, that used to be such a fun game mode. I remember some of the Minecade players would hop on and we'd all hop into those and mess around.

Just the intro gave me goosebumps you're commentary is great and i hadn't felt like that since fitMC video about the day that 2b2t almost died. And it was a year ago or even 2 I can't remember hut the point is that the way you're talking is great and I'm only 2 minutes in,knowing this will be a good video.

Man I miss old mineplex so much, I’ve been on and off the server since 2013, but when I play now adays and see all of my friends last online 1250 days ago, and how much the server has changed, it’s just not the same. I miss you buddy, you were a great server, and all my other friends and the regulars that used to play.

The most memorable things from Mineplex when i played it when I was 8 or 10 was playing Knight in Dominate, Having fun in Minekart, and feeling excited when I completed the Lava Parkour.

I have so many memories of playing mineplex when I was 8, my favorite thing to do was mess around in the main hubs with perks and cosmetics (I was gifted the top rank at the time) and those memories will never go away, but sadly, in 2015 I got perm false banned, and 8 year old me didn’t know how to appeal or verify an email address, so it was all gone

This made me kinda emotional- mineplex was my go to server but i havent played it in years now

#mineplex I remember playing it. I had fun in bomb lobbers, turf wars, and a few others but during fortnite, the games didn't have enough players to keep running so I couldn't play and ended up going to hypixel and singleplayer.

man i loved bomb lobbers, and i think it was something like death tag, and they ended up getting rid of both of them from the public lobbies, that sucked

i’m an old mineplex mod and lowkey this video made me tear up a little bit. good old days. it really is sad how small the server is now

I miss this server so much, I have so much nostalgia tied to this server and it is a real shame that its essentially dead now.

Ahh so many memories on Mineplex, I was a mod for quite a while until a few months ago :’)

The hacking problem is extremely bad on bedrock mineplex. I've seen people with killaura, illegal items such as a diamond sword with sharpness 16 and god apples, and its gotten to the point where people have an instant kill hack, and mineplex doesn't do anything. On Dragons, there is a cheat which makes you float in the air and become invincible.

Hey, there is a minecraft hack client on google play, the cheating problem is far greater on bedrock than on Java, i guess that's because Java is an older server, and because Minecraft doesn't have any built in anti cheat, servers have to make their own, watchdog by Hypixel, Gwen by Mineplex, and so on

@@vianyu6177 to carry on your comment yes the hacker situation is atrocious, I’ve seen lava, creepers , knock-back and punch 100, jump boost, obsidian, and b hopping. But that’s only 4/5 of the issues the glitches are terrible, you have one where a player gets spawned halfway inside a block on the ground meaning you can leave the block or change the direction your looking at the only really reliable way to get out is to break the block or have an empty space next to the block you can force your way to, sometimes you spawn underneath the map and die instantly, in rare cases (I’ve had this *once* ) most of the map does not exist but the translucent part do.

Man I still remember seeing mineplex on the top of server list. And hypixel had some of their custom maps as playable minigames which was so much fun.

Aye I’m gonna watch the stream too I didn’t know about it until now 😂

I have to stop watching these Minecraft retropectives, bc every time I watch one I always cry of nostalgia

I just want to play Castle Siege and Sneaky Assassins again on MinePlex. Shame they removed those games...

Sneaky assassins is still playable in mixed arcade and sometimes the castle siege community hosts an mps where they run it for hours on end

Man I don't just *remember* Mineplex. I grew up with it. My first few years of playing Minecraft Java more or less consisted of Pixelmon and Mineplex. I have such insanely fond memories of setting my laptop up to the TV, jumping on Mineplex, and dominating in Super Smash Mobs with a specific parody of Counting Stars in the background. Getting called a hacker or a noob cause I mained the Iron Golem and probably won around 60-65% of games. Among countless other memories in more or less every game still on the network, maybe any game ever on the network. I tend to make jokes these days when I'm bored with friends and one suggests getting on Mineplex. Saying stuff like "imagine playing on Mineplex in 2020." But the server always is gonna hold a special place in my memories for the childhood memories it provided. Also #Mineplex

i remember everything... the fun games i would have with my friend after school on my parents laptop, the sweet Christmas night of 2016 where i opened a mythical chest for it to show my name on everyone's screen that i had unlocked "Titan" rank through luck, and for everyone to type out "gg" and congratulate me. Those were the days. i miss those days.

I think my most fond memory of Mineplex was when I was playing survival games one day and I got killed by a guy who beat me, I called him a hacker afterwards but then we just laughed it off and we ended up becoming friends, he was smart too when we would be at the start of a match he would punch towards a direction we would run to make things easier. In other words we became an unstoppable team and won 90% of our games. But I don't play on the server nearly as much as I did... and I don't see him on either, I hope all is well..

I got so many memories I had no idea to the why the down fall but it's really a sad one!!

Man, I miss Halloween Horror and Christmas Chaos. It's fine how they are trying new and different seasonal games, but man. Nothing can replace those.

My favorite documentary

OH MY GOODNESS MINEPLEX WAS MY SERVER WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. Survival games, master builders, block hunt, and cake wars were my favorites. I remember when suddenly cake wars became filled with hackers, and since I didn’t watch much YT and never heard of xturtle, I was so confused! I eventually just started playing hypixel instead. I had questions about what happened to Mineplex, so this video was so great to see! Thank you Mineplex for all the wonderful memories!💕

It is nice to see you mention that Minecade had some kind of role in the creation of Mineplex. A lot of the other Minecraft documentaries on Mineplex tend to overlook this piece of info. I was staff on both Mineplex and Minecade, volunteering first at Mineplex and eventually Minecade. For Mineplex, I was staff around the time when it was one of the biggest Minecraft servers. After leaving Mineplex, I staffed on Minecade. Minecade has always been on a decline ever since a bunch of the Minecade staff flocked to Mineplex. Minecade has always had a history of negligent/incompetent management. Under Felipe, games were hardly updated to fix bugs and were usually left in the dust in favor of some other new game. Eventually Minecade was sold to Good Gaming, but that didn't fix any of the issues in management. I would consider the management under Good Gaming more incompetent than negligent, as they would prioritize their own server first instead of work on Minecade. I was still staff under Minecade at this point, and it was really disappointing seeing them make big promises to the server and failing to hold up to those promises. Eventually Good Gaming took down Minecade to "recode" it. I find this hard to believe as it has been down for more than a year and the community has next to no updates on what is going on. Any time the higher-ups are publicly called out for this, they threaten to ban because they consider it "harassment," making it really hard to hold them accountable. I think doing a documentary on Minecade would be cool, but I don't think Minecade is a server that most players would immediately recognize.

Those ace attorney remixes only made watching this video so much better :)
