Regardless of what she said, JK Rowling IS the Harry Potter franchise. These are actors that played characters in the movies. But Harry Potter and the characters are themselves in the books and only in the books. The movies are secondary to any fan. There’s no discussion to be had about it.

I totally agree that it's sickening how she's been treated. But at the same time, I'm not sure this comment was completely fair. They're one big thing. They shouldn't be viewed separately. In this interview, Tom's not the one saying he can't answer. None of them can. He's publicly stated it's frustrating that he's not allowed to share differing opinions. But back to the books/movies. There would be no movies without the books. But at the same time, the movies gave fans the opportunity to see exactly what the castle, the grounds, quidditch, the spells, etc. looked like. I'm a huge fan, and I love them equally. Why does one have to be primary or secondary?

Yes, there's a spectrum between male and female, but the spectrum doesn't naturally extend into any middle ground except for less than 1% of the population, and people who are true intersex have huge problems with their bodies.
