Skip The Dishes Acceptance Rate...Does It Trigger More Offers?

Does Skip the dishes acceptance rate matter when it comes to getting more orders with Skip the dishes? Well in this video we talk about that. I have been a full time gig worker in this gig economy now for less than a month and I have been playing around with Skip the dishes as a Skip the dishes courier to see if things truly make a difference and now I want your opinion. For those wondering I am a Skip the dishes driver in Montreal and now I am seeing a shift in my market. Being a gig worker in Montreal does allow for good videos but it's not always the best for pay as many may think.

    I'm on the very west coast on Vancouver island. In my market, skip is one of the major players. I used to cherry pick on skip just like I do with doordash and UberEATS but that's before I knew about the top up. When I did cherry pick on skip, with low AR, skip doesn't send me any offers and if they do, it's like 1 per 4 hour shift. However, once I started accepting more and kept at the 80%+, not only did they top up those non/low tippers to $7.50, they usually send orders back to back as if they already planned your delivery route. It's not always the case but you do get way more orders with a higher AR rate. It's kinda smart for Skip because the top up gives drivers incentive to accept more while not getting low ball offers. The base rate with skip depends on your km so the higher km, the higher the pay.

    In my market, Vaughan (just north of Toronto) base pay is 6.50 with Skip if I maintain 80% AR. I see more offers as well, just like you did, when I start bringing up my AR, but I can never stay at 80% since I cherry pick with Uber Eats and Doordash. If I were only doing Skip and didn't use the other apps I'm pretty sure I'd keep my AR higher in order get that top up and higher frequency of orders, but since I only use Skip as an extra supplement to my other apps when it's slow, I'm usually at 0-20% AR, so Skip does not like me much either. I see about 4 or 5 orders usually in a 3 hour shift if I don't increase my acceptance rate much. So it's not fully dead but it's barely alive 😄

    I honestly don't know what my AR is for Skip right now. I don't usually pay attention to it. I feel like I get orders regardless. When I'm above 80%, I do notice that I get lower offers at times which brings it down real quick. The problem in my area is Skip is a large network. Lots of customers in cities around Vaudreuil order.... but don't tip accordingly. So it brings my AR down (because I decline them).

    Hi, this is just my guess based on zero hard facts but I managed to do 6 hours of skip yesterday, took every order, and only ended up with 5. I get the top up as well so I don’t think acceptance rate has anything to do with how many orders we get. I do pause it though as I do other orders. I truly think skip has the smallest market share. Dash and Uber are currently dominating that market here. Sad because if I could get lots of skip orders I’d be very happy. Edit: today at lunch time I did 5 skip orders in under 2 hours. It’s really all based on demand and # of drivers.

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    Thanks for that Eric! I do find Skip is a small part of the market too. They have to be with the lack of orders I get but it's a "What are the odds" moment when all of a sudden I do better for Skip, and then the orders come on in.

  • @hebrewhammer7165

    The question should be, when a top-up shows up, is it a tip or not? Personally STD should get red of the top-up and AR. Let the customer decided how much they want to tip. And for AR, no action should be taken against the driver for declining order(s).

  • @DashWithAshinCanada

    @DashWithAshinCanada

    Жыл бұрын

    So if you get a $8 order it's likely no tip and they pushed it to $8 due to the lack of tips so essentially you do take more non tip orders but you get a much better minimum. I agree with you about the AR part

  • @colinlam1986

    @colinlam1986

    The top up isn't a tip, it's skip the dishes topping up to the minimum so you get paid more for those no/low tippers as a reward for staying at 80%+. So many offers such as from McDonald's, it's usually $4-5 with tip. But with top up in my market, it'll be 7.50 for that McDonald's order So the top up definitely helps!

    @@hebrewhammer7165 depends on the km. with skip, if it’s $4 transit, it’s probably a low km order with no tip. Probably 3-4km. $7.50 for 3-4km? sure. I get many 1-2km orders so even better, $1-2 transit + no tip + topup = $7.50? why not? you wouldn’t take 2km for $7.50? The idea of the top-up is i would avoid these garbage offers that you normally get without the topup.
