Good review man. I'm super interested in the Skil line of tools. I'm especially curious about the jigsaw. It seems pretty feature packed.

Hey brother, it's June 2023 and I just ran across your video. Excellent review and well done. Your video is still relevant a few years later. I have the better power core 20 4.0 battery with their Sawzall and have been impressed. Enough so that i just bobought their 40 volt powered weedeater and 530 cfm blower. Both run better than expected. I am about to buy the 5" sander, partly from your recommendation. Thank you.

Thanks for this!! I still use the whole Skil lineup, the batteries are solid after years of use, it’s pretty wild to me that they are sort of under the radar still.

Just found your KZread channel and think your a great teacher. I just bought a SKIL 5” Random Orbital Sander with Cyclonic Dust Box it's not the same as this one in the video. I've never used one before and was wondering can you tell me the difference between the sanding sheets. Thanks🙂

Amazon had thier 6 piece 20v kit for 199 had to pick it up! comes with the sander, Multi tool, recip, drill, light and speaker

This is identical to the Erbauer sold here in the UK and rest of Europe. However we have bigger batteries 4.0 and 5.0a

I haven't heard of that brand yet! I need to look into it. I've been very happy with this SKIL lineup and their batteries.

to clean the filter i think you would rinse it under cold water, making sure the water enters from the outside where it caves in. then you let it dry in the sun for 24 hours?

How long does the battery actually last? Can I really sand with it for a solid hour?

Def depends on the workload, and speed setting, but I’ve sanded for an hour many times with this sander and the 4ah battery, normally running it on 4 or 5 (not max) setting.

I haven't seen any dust emitted from the front.

What would be better this ir the brushless dewalt

Yes for sure! You can buy packs of sanding discs depending on what you need for a specific project. They just stick on when using.
