In my opinion, this was Skid Row showing the WORLD that they can put out some really hard rock and not be lumped in with the hair bands of the time. Slave To The Grind is ALMOST a speed metal song. If you decide to react to it, you wont be disappointed.

I was 21 when Skid Row came out and some called them "Hair Metal" which they were not. Bands like Poison (one example) were Hair Metal. Lots of makeup and HUGE, high, hairsprayed look. The biggest difference is the music, which Poison was all about "Don't need nothing but a good time..." or "Talk dirty to me." Skid Row had more complex music, lyrics and singing. Thanks for checking them out!

For those out there that know who Michael Sweet is, I think Sebastian and him are about the only vocalists that can pull off opening screaming like that.

This was my middle school and high school years. I had their poster on the wall. I went to their shows. I even had the t-shirt. Sebastian Bach has such a great voice. Much later than this (2002) I was able to see him in the Musical Jesus Christ Superstar and he was amazing in that too!
