Little known fact. When moto's mother went in for her first ultrasound doctors where completely baffled as there was a kid next to what was very clearly a skateboard growing in proportion to the kid... by her second ultrasound doctors witnessed him land his first kickflip. When she went into labor..she didn't even make it to the hospital cause he cavemaned out of the uterus and by the time they found him he was on vert doing 540's and the variations too.. this is a true story

GuitarJozz you said it I remember watching Tony Hawk land the first 900 I remember Bucky Tony and Bob battling it out I remember when Eric koston 1 Street in Philly I remember when Travis Pastrana landed the first double backflip I remember when the first backflip was attempted Carey Hart I feel old and during those times I literally was jumping out of my seat because it was the first time people have ever seen these tricks and before that people are getting seriously hurt trying them but also you got to look at Evel Knievel 2 what he did during that time was amazing and unbelievable and Travis Pastrana it just did it with ease not too long ago in Vegas and he didn't do just one jumpy did three of Evel Knievel's jumps so the amount of progression is amazing and it's great to see people stepping it up but when I was little there wasn't a throw-away run everybody went hard every round and tried their best to learn a new trick in front of hundreds of millions of people and claim it for themselves and because of that generation we got Tony Hawk Pro Skater Matt Hoffman BMX Dave Mirra BMX the video games we're coming out left and right because during that time it was very entertaining

Moto's second run is hands down one of the greatest vert runs of all time, not to mention his kamikaze varial being one of the most creative and stylish original tricks to ever be landed in comp. Style, control, momentum, height, variety, inversions, flip tricks, lip tricks, spins.. What more could you ask for from this kid? It was a flawless run, a perfect 100.

These contests should be won by who lands the most out of a list of tricks or something of that nature... not won by an opinion-based decision. That goes for dunk contests too. Instead of giving a number based on how impressed you were, the contestants should have to do specific dunks to earn points and have points deducted after an amount of attempts, and have that go on for 3 rounds, and have a freestyle round for the 4th round in which they could do any dunk they wanted like the traditional dunk contest. But just have the first 3 rounds settled by doing specific dunks so that the judges can’t give a low score for personal reasons.

What size wheels are the vert dudes riding these days? I've always found 60mm to be the ideal size. These guys look like they maybe even bigger, 62 or 65 maybe? Maybe they just look really big after watching the street dudes.

Favourite skater to watch is Diaz, Father time catching up and unfortunate he never laid down a better last run even if a 900 is considered old school now. You cant award a skater Gold that never completed a run, especially when Moto was way more technical.

Not a lot of people miss PLG. Many skaters have been robbed because the judges are so enamored by him. I feel bad for all of the people robbed over the years because of him.

I hate to say this...X-games vert skate judges have failed to protect the public eyes this time. Jimmy Wilkins was kinda lame today and was not even close comparing to moto and not consistent at all. 3 runs fail to finish clean even his best run. Jimmy even looks guilty on his face when he was interviewed and cant say much. The mediator like bob burnquist did his job well but failed to open his eyes and see the reality even if these people been skating the whole life hahaha.....they should have at least say something about it...Im happy Sandro Dias and Andy Macdonald skated even clean and did better. Still Moto is the best vert skater of this generation. Support Simple City it is the best skateboarding stuff of the century.

Exactly and if im not mistaken its his first time appearance as official mediator on this kind of event. The audience like him and he cant afford to blow himself up big time...like stay cool, shut up and keep every trick does by skater define. "Hear no evil and see no evil."

Everyone is saying the same thing, and they’re all right. MOTO SHOULD HAVE WON. Wilkins did good, but I I really don’t understand how he got such a high score with those runs. Are the criteria for judging available to read? I just don’t understand what made his runs better, especially because he bailed during it...imo Wilkins best run deserves 75-85 tops

I've been watching Moto grow over the last few years. First saw him as a tiny tiny kid barely making a foot of air in the asian x games, to one of the most interesting vert skaters around today. I think he got robbed a little bit here but the first two spots are well deserved. I'm actually a little bit disappointed in Mitchie Brusco. He's become a very conservative and unexciting skater to watch. When he was just a teen he would tackle the craziest tricks with a refreshing "why the hell not?!" attitude, but now that he wants to be taken seriously as an adult he has lost that spark that made him so interesting.
